DVC Tours/Timeshare presentation

My wife and I are interested in doing a DVC Timeshare Presentation when we visit in May. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me how they usually go.

What is the typical tour like?
Are there any perks? Not that we would go for just that, but any extra incentive might entice us to go and give up a few hours of park time.

We just went Sunday. You will meet up at SSR with a guide who will sit down with you and have a nice chat session on Q&A, etc. Snacks/beverages are there. Then, they'll take you to see a short video presentation and a then our of the studio and one bedroom and the grand villa. Then, you head off to a parlour room where they will work ##'s on a computer using your travel habits and choice of accomdations. You will get a "Dreams" book, which is just a nice salesbook for DVC. If you want to buy then, you sign all the paperwork there, which is what we did. Very nice and painless. Including signing on all the dotted lines, we spent less than two hours there. Then, they feed you ice cream No perks...other than the book, which is kinda nice. If you sign, they give you your tote and pins right then, too!

Last year they gave you fastpasses good anytime and anywhere. Do they still do that?

Yes, they did the fastpass thing for us as well. The idea being that your vacation time is valuable so they say "Here, to make up for your time spent looking at DVC, we'll save you an hour or two of having to wait in attraction lines." It was enough incentive for us to go look last May while we were on vacation. Didn't make the plunge though until the F&F this February. Taking first trip as DVC members this June.

we were given a $50 giftcard after our tour. it was good for anything at WDW.

We were given 2 fastpasses (good for 4) and also the giftcard which I used at Ohana.

The tour was really nice and low key. No pressure but I think I still want it!! LOL

In comparison with other timeshare presentations we have gone through, the DVC was MUCH more informative and MUCH less manipulative. Probably because of that, my wife and I found the DVC presentation much more persuasive!

When DH & I went in October, we received a $100 credit that could be used anywhere in the park.

Bumping this thread, as I am interested also. I was over there yesterday but for a very short visit before going to work. My folks are interested in buying in after stopping off at the sales center at the Boardwalk before leaving town last Tuesday.

We came with our credit card (or how every you are planning to do your down payment) and drivers licenses and that was it. The credit app is NOT indepth at all, they ask for your income and expenses with no documentation, which I was pretty surprised at. They do a credit check. Once we got home, I had to mail a voided check for auto payment out of our checking. They included a postage paid envelope for that. It was a very painless process....so painless in fact that we just added 50 pts over the phone yesterday! It was just as easy as in person!
