Does anyone know if we receive discounts on the Premium Annual Pass (AP)? How about purchasing them - is this done at check-in or before arriving? When do they begin to expire, the day of purchase or your first day at the parks? Your help is greatly appreciated!

We are staying long enough that the AP makes sense, since we are considering going again within a year, but I was disappointed the find out that the AP is really our only (best) option. Because we are staying half of our trip at BCV and then on to BWV, Disney treats these as two reservations, resulting in MUCH higher costs ($140 per person for us, hence making the AP the way to go) to purchase the length of stay pass sepately for the two reservations (I'm probably dating myself calling it this, just not sure what the newest name is). I understand that the passes end on the day you check out, so when you check out of the first hotel the passes cannot be transferred to your next destination. Seems to me to be a convenient way for Disney to make you pay more for passes. Just a thought.

There is no DVC discount on AP's. The only pass discount for DVC is Ultimate Park Hopper (Length of Stay). AP's cannot be purchased at the resort, you have to go to a park, Downtown Disney or the Orlando Airport Disney Store (there maybe other places in FL). If you purchase a voucher in advance, they become effective when you trade them in for the actual pass.

You mentioned a Premium AP. Are you going to be going to the water parks, PI & Disney Quest enough to makeup the difference between a regular AP? Do you plan to go back within a year? If so, then an AP or PAP would be the way to go. Even if you only go once a year, you can plan your trips so that your trip next year is before it expires. We go twice a year but get 3 trips out of one by going next year a week earlier.

We would likely go to the water parks at least twice, likely three times and my kids would go to DQ once. You are right that we need to look at the cost difference between the PAP and AP.

Here is a link to WDW Ticket Prices here on the DIS. It would seem that some type of AP would be the best plan for you.

Since DVC has a discount only on the UPH, the Theme Parks Board may be a better forum for discussion about other types of admission media.

Good luck with your decision.

The Disney Club discount on APs should be available until the end of 2003 when the club is dissolved.
