DVC SSR Price Increase June 5

I went through t DVC tour this past Friday. I was told the price per point was rising as of June 5th. Currently it is $95/pt I believe. The DVC salesperson mentioned that it would be rising to $98/pt (I think). Has anyone else heard of these price increases? Also I was told that the $8/pt discount was only available if you purchased within 3 days of your current Disney resort check-out. In other posts it seems that the $8 per point discount is available for any purchaser? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. It's widely known that prices will increase on that date.

That's a fairly common approach to take. If your first contact with DVC is on-site, they often (if not always) attach that 3-day limit. Those who contact DVC and discuss purchasing from home (and are unable to actually see the resort, rooms) are usually given more time to decide.

If you are interested, I would suggest placing the down payment before your time runs out. Placing the down payment does not represent any sort of commitment on your part, but does lock in the discount. You can always change your mind before the paperwork is signed (and even beyond that), and still receive a full refund.

I wouldn't count on being able to get the discount reinstated after the time limit has lapsed. Some think they can take the "if you really want my business, give me the discount" approach. I won't tell you that it has never worked, but I can honestly say that there have been times when such a request is refused.
