DVC ressie with no tickets

This is the answer I'm waiting for too!
Sorry for the late reply, evidently Disboards has a limit on how many posts you can do in a certain time frame for it had a counter that said I could post again in X minutes....

If you go back and read the entire thread/previous posts on this conversation you would see that I have July 2020 DVC BCV reservations but no tickets and when I talked to DVC member services this morning(6/24) I was out of luck on getting 2020 tickets. I then asked that "IF" I had 2021 DVC hotel reservation could I get park tickets and she said that I would have to call Disney (instead of DVC) so to answer your question "no I did not get tickets".

Basically I have come to the conclusion that DVC member services is totally useless in this situation and its best to call Disney directly concerning park tickets.

As for when we can get 2020 park tickets, I have no inside information but from what I know about Disney, from what I have seen them do so far and from all the forum talk I personally have come to the conclusion that Disney is worried about the number of 2020 tickets outstanding and will wait until after 6/28 to see how many off-world/general public folks book park reservations, then and only then after they have those numbers will they decide on whether to open up sales or not. Yes they "want" to open up sales but won't until they have hard numbers to base their decision on.
Again this is just my opinion.

So I finally got through....talked to a cast member.....and she told me I could NOT buy tickets today for a DVC Resort room only reservation. I have to wait until Sunday, June 28th. She said I could buy a package (room and tickets) today only. I asked her to please try since it says a room only reservation should be able to add tickets today....and she said that does not apply to DVC room reservations....only those resort reservations that can be upgraded to a package. So that is 3 1/2 hours of my life I cannot get back. So disappointing!!

Ugg...I know that people with cash have not had success yet with adding tickets and many are posting they are just booking a package with tickets and canceling.

It is sad that they are not consistent as yesterday, many were saying today tickets would be allowed, for both cash and DVC.

Ok so based on the info you all are giving me I am giving up on getting tickets for my DVC reservation today. I will try again on the 28th but I have sincere doubts that will be available. As a back up plan i got a quick 2 night stay at PopCentury WITH tickets so I could atleast attend my RunDisney event. It's ridiculous that I can book a NEW hotel stay with tickets but not get tickets on a existing DVC reservation. This is awful and I sincerely do not understand it at all.

Well I got through extraordinarily quickly on the 9277 #, but same answer. No package = no tickets. DVC standalone tickets are no go today.

Sadie, are you saying that people are purchasing a new 2020 Hotel/ticket package and then cancelling it as a work around to get the park tickets for 2020 or are you referring to 2021 packages? If this is true for 2020 then how does that work? I thought in a new Hotel/Ticket package the tickets are tied to the dates of your reservation and if you cancel a package do you still keep the tickets? Can you expand on your statement "many are posting they are just booking a package with tickets and canceling."

Thank you

This is infuriating!!! I guess I will be told the same thing. I don't understand why DVC people are being overlooked like this. It's a slap in the face.

Sorry, no. We are talking 2021. People with cash room only in 2021 are simply booking a new 2021 package with tickets and then canceling out their cash room only reservation they had for 2021 as it is not allowing them to just add tickets,

So, it seems consistent so far that no one is being able to add tickets for. 2021 if it’s just room only,,DVC or cash.

What is not consistent is that cash guests have a way to get 2021 tickets today because they simply rebook a new reservation

DVC does not have that option. So, it means that we are now going to be a few days behind for 2021.

No one has been allowed to modify anything for 2020 and add tickets, cash or DVC.

So is it best then for us to just cancel our current DVC and rebook? I'm not sure how that would work since we rented someone else's points.

DVC doesn’t have the option to book with tickets today so it doesn’t work to rebook.

The only option that a DVC owner can do is book a 2021 package, with tickets, make park reservations and then pay thr $200 deposit,

Once ticket sales open up for 2021..which should be the 28th I guess, they buy tickets, link them to the guests...which should keep the park reservations intact as they now have two tickets,

Then go cancel the 2021 cash package booked today. Of course, no guarantee it will work, but for $200 deposit that is all that is needed to book a new cash package, could be worth a try?

ETA: scratch this...they require you to book park days I believe when you buy tickets so it might not work..

I’m a new DVC member (bought Riviera in December - haven’t even had our first “welcome home” stay) and this was my worst fear when we purchased: that if I’m DVC I wouldn’t be as “important” as cash guests. I cannot believe new packages are being booked for 2021. I can’t even fathom the thought process. Just makes me sad.

Thanks as always everyone for sharing all the information you have found out! I’ve been trying to call all AM. Think I’m giving up now for the day based on what people are saying...

Hi everyone. I got though to a very nice CM. 407-939-5277. (I was on hold from 6:45am to 9:15am - staying at DVC on rented points in Jan 2021 with no tickets.) She really tried to help me. Even put me on hold to check with the DVC line herself so I wouldn't have to. The outcome is that I can't get 2021 park tickets at this time. They are only able to do so by rebooking as a package today. We will be able to (should be able to) get tickets online on the 28th and reserve parks at that time. I'm hoping that process is smoother than it was for those trying for the last couple of days... I keep telling myself that even if I can't get tickets, hopefully I'll still be at BWV in January and not in Wisconsin. :)

I just chatted with UT and asked about 2021 tickets and this is what I got..so hopefully the 28th with them too...

Well I'm still on hold but I guess I'll get the same answer then. I would like to know who we can send our complaints to.

If anyone is successful buying or renewing an annual pass today I’d love to hear about it! Half of our group has passes that expire in September and tris at November and February.
I miraculously was able to get thru to Member Services and only had a wait time of 35 minutes! Asked to renew my annual pass that was originally set to expire in July. MS said no problem and sold me the renewal certificates!!! I bought 3 in one transaction and 1 in a separate transaction (so I was able to use the gift cards I bought for this purpose). I logged on to MDE and was able to link the 3 but was unable to link the 4th - I received an error message. I will try again soon...I think I will eventually be successful- I think the problem is MDE is having a moment! It was acting weird for sure!
So excited! I haven't yet tried to make my Thanksgiving reservations- want to load the last AP renewal 1st. Hopefully it works for reservations. I will update later!
Thanks so much to TCRAIG for the renewal info!! The Member Services woman I spoke to said they were originally not allowed to sell the renewals but were just told they could.

Thanks for the update! I am on hold with MS to do the same.

I know it would involve an outlay of money, but if it’s that important to get access to the Park Pass system for 2021, why aren’t members just booking a package for cash that covers your dates? You can book your Park Passes and when ticket purchases open up again, you can
  • Buy and link new tickets.
  • Link the DVC reservation (if not already linked)
  • Cancel the cash package for a refund.
From everything that I’ve seen, the Park Pass reservation system works just like the FP+ system. You only lost your FPs if you didn’ t have a resort and valid tickets attached. It didn’t matter if you had a different resort booked or different tickets in your account from the time when you made the FP reservations.
