My family and I have just gotten the DVC and we are going to Kidani Village this year. I was just wondering what other good resorts are there at the most magical place on Earth. Please tell me why these resorts are great. :earsboy: :thanks:

All DVC resorts are great for various reasons. Beach Club villas and Boardwalk are great for close proximity to EPCOT and DHS. they both have great dining and entertainment options... BCV also has best pool complex on property.
BLT and Wilderness lodge are great for proximity to Magic kingdom.
I suggest trying them all at some point... that's one of the best things about DVC... flexibilty and choices.
Welcome Home!

Don't forget about Saratoga Springs for it's proximity to Downtown Disney and Old Key West (the first DVC) for it's wonderful laid back atmosphere! :thumbsup2

ALL the resorts are great. They all have their pluses and minuses though. While I would enjoy trying BLT, my DW and 2 DD's have no interest due to the decor.

We loved staying in Kidani with savanna views, even with being in the unit on the end of the long hallways (we clocked a 12 minute walk from elevator to room). We also loved the THV, but decided 5 adults and 4 kids make it a bit tight.

We have also stayed at VGC a couple of times and having the entrance to DCA is great and the decor of the resort is fantastic.

As a PP said, try them as you can and decide what works for you and your family.

Welcome Home

They're all great, so I'll name all of them - Animal Kingdom Villas, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, and Bay Lake! :)

My favorites are obviously the two that I own at - AKV (Kidani) and BWV. But I love the fact that I can try all of them. I've been to every resort except for BLT. I would definitely recommend eventually trying all of them. You might be surprised as to which you like best. The good thing is that you have so many years to enjoy your membership, so there's no rush to try each resort. Have fun!

There's not a loser in the bunch. For us, the informal atmosphere at BCV is just what we like. And from BCV it's easy to eat supper at Epcot (some of the best restaurants are there), watch the fireworks, then stroll home without dealing with the bus crowds. But BCV isn't for everybody. Does it bother you to see dads stroll bare-chested through the hotel lobby? If so, you want someplace else.

Boardwalk lets you see the nightly fireworks at EPCOT, ride the boats to EPCOT and Hollywood, and entertains you at night with boardwalk shows.

Make list of what is important to you.

restuarants that you can still get to even in the rain - VWL, BCV, BLT, AKV

zero depth pool - SSR, BCV (kiddie pool at main pool), AKV, BLT

great community hall - there is only one that really stands out (my opinion) - SSR. Okw, bwv, blt, akv are nice - but alot smaller. BCV and VWL don't have a community hall.

easy access to restuarants that are not part of the hotel - BLT & VWL (MK and other monrail resort), BCV & BWV (Epcot, studio and other epcot resorts), SSR & OKW (dd)

parking close to your villa - then OKW, SSR, BCV and BLT

see the fireworks from your villa or nearby - BLT (TOW), BWV and BCV - (bridge)

you have to decide what you like. that say would visit everyone as a guest first.

I couldn't agree more with this. Even though our home resort is BLT, we have only stayed at BCV and are returning there in January (need 2 studios and the points are cheaper at BCV than at BLT). With that said, we LOVE BCV and want to buy into it in the very near future. When we toured BLT we fell in love with the fact that it was so close to MK and is also on the monorail line. I agree with the rest of the PPs and say that there is not one thing wrong with any of the other resorts and I can't wait to try them all :goodvibes

Great decision list SpiceyCat. You put it all in a very good context for people who haven't yet stayed at all the resorts.

i stayed in a few DVC resorts before staying at BWV and thats where i fell in love! something about that place is magical and calls me back often. HOWEVER, last summer we did spend a week at AKL and i loved it there too but we're back at BWV in 10 days!
