DVC Resort Question?

I am curious about the room sizes at the different resorts. I am thinking about renting points. We would have 4 adults and 1 child (1 year old). We would not necessarily need seperate bedrooms. Just wondering how comfortable it is for 4 adults in some of the villas.

Also, can you use points to stay at any Disney resort or just those that are DVC?

4 adults in a studio is a bit crowded -- not as bad as 4 adults in a value resort hotel room, but still very crowded. Add in the baby, and it's all very crowded. However, any of the 1 bedroom villas will have more than enough room, though there might be a bit of the wait for the bathroom at times. You may want to deliberately aim for one of the newer DVC resorts, since they have split bathrooms in the 1 bedroom villas.

At OKW, the studios will have two queen beds. There will be a portable crib (Pac 'n Play) for the infant.

All of the other DVC resort studios have one queen bed and a sleep sofa for bedding. There will also be the same portable crib available for the infant.

I agree with bicker - the studios will be crowded for 4 adults. Of course if you are used to staying together in one hotel room, it may not be a problem for you.

The 1 bedroom units have a king bed in the bedroom and a sleep sofa in the living room. There is also a portable crib. The large bathroom is split into two rooms - one had a jacuzzi tub and a sink/vanity and the other has a large shower, toilet and small sink. You will also have a fully equipped kitchen (incl a full size refrigerator) and a washer/dryer. If you are staying any length of time, that washer & dryer is really nice, especially with a baby.

You can rent points to stay at most of the non-DVC resorts, but it will be more expensive than booking directly through CRO/WDWTC.

If you haven't already, you can look at pictures of the various rooms here. Once you are there, scroll down and look for the Disney Vacation Club resort links in the left column.

Any of the 1-bedrooms will work. You get a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen fold-out in the living room.

I have a family of 5 and always go with a 2-bedroom villa. In most cases, this would give you a king in the master and 2-queens in the 2nd room, plus the fold-out in the living room.

You can use your DVC points at any Disney resort, but get a better bang for your buck using the DVC resorts.

Old Key West will give you the most space of all the DVC resorts. ::MickeyMo
