DVC resort Bell Service, use them or not?

We've seen it more often lately also, especially at AKL and WL. Unless Bell Services lets grocery delivery people use them. But I've also seen people using them with luggage on them also, so who knows!
Bell services at Jambo let us have one back in March. Just asked at the desk.

Full Disclosure: I am always a DIY person unless I just can't, i.e. - Aulani. That said, I am glad that the service is there for those that want it, however, DIY should also be allowed for those that want that.

My real pet peeve, as seen above in the thread, is BS at SSR, where if you are driving in, serves no real purpose and they specifically try to make it more difficult on members when they removed the carts from the individual buildings. I mean, when your room is ready in the Paddock, who is going to drive up front, unload all of your luggage, drive over to Paddock and get into your room and then call for your stuff to be delivered. What we find now is that members end up bringing their own carts/handtrucks, etc to unload, which is a bit of a pain when it doesn't have to be.

We follow the same routine. I wonder how many people only tip once to get their bags from the car to the room? We always tip each time someone handles the bags, as we thought/think that to be the "proper" etiquette.

Edited to add that I'm not judging people who only tip once. I am truly curious about the norm.
I wonder if it would make sense for them to just pool their tips per shift and then split it at the end of the shift.

Question. Does Bell Services frown upon using their luggage carts or is it now acceptable to do so?
It can depend on how many they have available. If you do it yourself, it is also expected you return the cart so it can be used by either BS or other guests.

Do you try and search on out or do you ask at Bell Services?

Personally I don't look for a cart at WDW. If I need cart help I just use the valet and Bell Services. I've just noticed vacationers using carts from time to time at BWV and Riviera (Feb 2024).

Question for anyone who knows?

--Valet was outsourced to a private company back in 2008 or 2009.--

--Bell Services have been Disney employees.--

That sort of explains the tip confusion, since the valet guys will typically unload your car and turn the cart over to bell services and you can get your stuff from them or have it delivered to your room. I've heard that valet pools tips but that bell services keep their own tips. Older DVC'ers used to travel with a selection of smaller bills for this reason. (Back in the early days we got free valet parking.)

Has anything changed?
