DVC Resale Broker Thread

I too would like to rent all of my points for 145 dollars per point. Why do I even have a job? DVC out here basically printing money 😂
I told my husband that if I can get loaded contracts below $80 I’m going to start buying them and become a DVC tycoon. 🙂

P.s., I did get my contract signed and enter ROFR today—nowhere near $80, but $150 for VGF with 60% of the 2022 points banked for use over the next year.

I had a very pleasant and professional transaction with Humberto Santos at www.dvcresalemarket.com , and I think that our contract should be submitted to ROFR very soon if it hasn't already.

I decided to try somebody new this time; last time, I was working with somebody else there who never could spell my name correctly.

Has anyone had issues with Fidelity (specifically Bonnie) emailing back quickly? It feels like I’m pulling teeth to get a call or email back.

I emailed her before. Based on some good "reviews" about her, and I am still looking for a small contract, so I sent her an email hoping she can help me find it or maybe when a new one comes in that fits, she would email me. That was 2+ weeks ago...absolutely crickets!! Nada!

I know all the agents are slammed and they obviously would prioritize the ones that are already in negotiation or trying to get more contracts listed w/ them. They also probably know that a lot of us would stalk the brokers site if we are are still looking, so that's probably why they don't even bother responding to us because we might put in offers before they even contact us. That's just my personal speculation though.

I put in an offer and they declined, so I asked a question and then offered more, and *crickets*. Like do they not want to sell? I left a voicemail as well.

Supposedly she’s the best one of the Fidelity agents. I find it hilarious that they have time to make DVC youtube videos but they struggle to run on a daily basis.

Sharing my first time buying experience here.
Filled out the form to offer the same price on dvcstore and dvc resale sites. Got a call back from dvcstore's Jerry the next morning. Got a counter 2 mins after the call, I countered, got the offer accepted the next day, and they said it's submitted to the ROFR a few hours later that day.
Meanwhile, never heard back from dvc resale after emailing him back confirming what I inputted in the form. Maybe he thought the offer was too low and didn't bother contacting?
Not sure if this is the norm.

Wow....that is pretty annoying! I'm sorry...

It happened to me once that, I put in an offer for one of their listings, a different agent and that listing was gone on the same day, so meaning someone else already got it. That's fine but I never got an email back saying "hey thanks for putting in your offer but unfortunately it's sold"

Oh they are selling!! They sell so much that they probably could barely keep up, that's why they don't respond to some of us and the customer service is so lacking! But this is what I have learned from this board...if I find THE ONE contract that I really want, make an offer anyway even though that broker/agent might not have the best reputation. Because at the end of the day, they have that one contract you want, and after the offer is accepted, the agent is kinda hands off and most of the work goes to the contract coordinator and the title company. I have learned not to take it personal...keep my 👀 on the prize, my end goal!!
Hope this helps with your not so great experience!

They do?!? I didn't even know that!! *going to YT now to find those videos...* LOL!
I guess maybe they’d rather have buyers coming in off YouTube links than people looking for an unusually good deal…but it really doesn’t hurt to exercise common courtesy and be polite. It takes like 20 seconds to copy and paste an email that says “Thank you for your offer, the seller is currently holding out for a much higher price/has received other higher offers. Let me know if there are any other listings I can help you with.”

I made an aggressive offer yesterday through a broker I don’t think can be named here. He wrote me today to say basically “Thank you for your offer. I am so sorry but the seller thinks you are so far apart he’s not interesting in negotiating. Let me know if you’d like to send a higher offer or if there is anything else I can help you with.”

That is the kind of broker I’d be more likely to work with in the future on both buyer and seller side.

FWIW, I’ve decided to adopt the attitude that I enjoy submitting offers 5-10% below the best price I’ve seen here lately whether or not I hear anything back— ideally I’m at least softening up a seller to help out one of my ROFR compatriots that’s willing to offer at or near median prices. Plus it has to be at least a little demoralizing for the brokers sitting on contracts they are trying to sell $30-40/pt above Fidelity median for the prior month. 😛

Absolutely!! I agree! That should be part of the service no matter which broker/agent. It's very unfortunate that they know we will buy from them regardless, so they don't bother.

Does anyone know why the closing costs are so much higher on DVCRM? I’m noticing that the closing costs are around $200 higher on DVCRM for the exact same contract than they are on 2 other reputable broker sites. I’m slightly frustrated.
And if you say you want Jeffrey sweet for title (buyer gets to pick title), your closing costs will be even less than listed. Most professional title co ever.

Yes. We had a near identical experience about 2 years ago. Dvc store is incredibly professional and… normal.

I have heard good things about them as well. Too bad they don't have any contracts that I'm interested right now...I feel like they don't get as many new listings?

Dvcstore is a bit smaller and used to be associated with dis boards. I am not sure if I am remembering correctly but I think they were one of the first dvc re sale brokers out there. Dvc resale market has really been dominating the broker market over the last few years. I am pretty sure monera for example used to be a stand alone co and dvc resale market bought them. They also seem to have a relationship with magical vacation title and they used to be more separate too. And then they moved in on disboards. Not sure about details this is all observation on my part.

Yeah I remember DVC store used to be the broker that was always on the DVC fan shows. I'm pretty sure DVCRM is the largest broker now for resale and have the most agents, so naturally they get crap ton more listings, makes sense.

She’s been non-responsive to me when I make lower offers. A response would be nice but rarely gives one.
I made an offer nine days ago on one of Bonnie's listings and haven't heard anything back after the automated response. It was a low offer. I think I'll offer again at $2 pp lower. Maybe that will illicit a response! I made an offer the next day via www.****************.com. The price was agreed, contracts signed and submitted to ROFR by last Friday i.e. in 24 hours or so. The offers made were of a similar level (the latter was $10pp higher as it had an extra year's worth of points).

Edit: I posted the broker name in the ROFR thread and it didn't grey out so I'm not sure why it did here!
