DVC Rental Questions

What is the typical payment procedures when renting points from a DVC member? For example, what is the typical deposit, and when is full payment usually due? Also, how far out can DVC members book a resort for you? I know this differs between home resort and non-home. Thanks for the help, we are starting to make plans for a summer 2009 trip, and one of my options is renting points. I figure it might be a good way to stay at one of the prime locations like BW, WL, or BC at a somewhat lower price.

Any other tips or advice would be most welcome as well.

It's all up to the member. Many will want a deposit immediately after making the reservation and the rest after getting the written confirmation. Some want full payment immediately. Members can make reservations at their home resort 11 months ahead of time.

Remember, you will not be able to contact Member Services for any reason such as to confirm your reservation, to add Disney's Magical Express or the Dining plan. The member will need to do that.

This is an agreement between you and the member. Disney is not involved in any way. If you have problems, Disney will not help you resolve them.

Most members do not allow any cancellations because of how the points work. So if you need to change or cancel your reservation, you may be out of luck and lose anything you already paid the member.
