A few questions for the DVC experts:

1.) I have been reading that in many cases the amount of Towels/TP etc. has not been sufficient. What happens if you run out prior to your 4th day service? Can you just call housekeeping for more?

2.) Do they provide any detergent for the dishwasher or washer/dryer?

3.) I heard you leave trash outside your door. Is that accurate and if so how often to they pick it up?

4.) If you make a reservation with your points, what are the cancellation polices? If you do cancel a reservation can you bank or rent your points out? Worrying about the prospect of potentially losing points.

5.) If you should have any type of complaints/concerns do you address these at the front desk? Is there a phone similar to that of the resort where you could push a button for bell services etc..?

Thanks.

A few questions for the DVC experts:

1.) I have been reading that in many cases the amount of Towels/TP etc. has not been sufficient. What happens if you run out prior to your 4th day service? Can you just call housekeeping for more?
Yes, but you pay for them. Additional towel packs (4 bath, 2 hand, 4 wash cloths and a mat) are $6.
2.) Do they provide any detergent for the dishwasher or washer/dryer?
There is a one-load box of laundry detergent provided when you check-in and during room service days, additonal would need to be provided by you. It is available in the resort store, or pack your own. Dishwasher detergent and hand dishwashing liquid is provided, if you run out, you may call housekeeping for more. No laundry detergent is provided to studio rooms.
3.) I heard you leave trash outside your door. Is that accurate and if so how often to they pick it up?
All resorts have a trash disposal area, please try not to leave it outside your room, it may sit there all day. At OKW, trash/recycle rooms are located on the ground floor, under one of the stairwells, at each building.
4.) If you make a reservation with your points, what are the cancellation polices? If you do cancel a reservation can you bank or rent your points out? Worrying about the prospect of potentially losing points.
If you cancel at least 31 days prior to arrival, points return to the current use year, and may be banked if you are within the banking window for your use year. Cancel 30 days or less, and those points go into holding status, can only be used for reservation made 60 days or less prior to arrival, and may not be banked. They can be used to make a reservation thatyou may rent out, as long is the reservation is within any other restrictions (holding) on the points.
5.) If you should have any type of complaints/concerns do you address these at the front desk? Is there a phone similar to that of the resort where you could push a button for bell services etc..?
You may address concerns in person at the front desk, or by emailing Member Satisfaction. It is best to address them at the front desk. The phone style will vary by resort...some resort phones have "bell services, maintenance, dining, housekeeping" buttons, others will specify the extension to dial.

The first time we went we needed towels by the third night & housekeeping was gracious enough to bring us 4 more, but also reminded us this was not the norm. Not so the last time. We were told there would be a charge. Why they do this I don't know? So be prepared to pay or hang up those towels

Trash & Tidy was on the 4th. They come in & tidy up the place take your trash & replenish cups, bowls etc.

Had 1 serving of coffee both reg & decaf with the powder creamer & sugar in the pkgs.

Not ever heard about keeping trash outside your door.

There was a small bottle of dish detergent (I was in the AKL studio BTW)

Any complaints just call the front desk. Phone is self explanitory

Changing a reservation 31 or more days prior to check-in:
If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the original reservation, the remaining Vacation Points will be returned to your account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.

All Vacation Points will be placed in the Holding Account. If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the original reservation, the remaining Vacation Points will stay in the Holding Account until the end of your Use Year.

Changing a reservation on the check-in date:
If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the original reservation, the remaining Vacation Points will be forfeited.

Cancelling a reservation 31 or more days prior to check-in:
All Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be restored to your account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.

Cancelling a reservation 30 days-1 day prior to check-in:
All the Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be placed in the Holding Account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.

Cancelling a reservation on the check-in date:
All the Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be forfeited.

Any time you change or cancel a Disney Vacation Club Resort reservation 30 days to one day before your scheduled arrival date, the Vacation Points used for that reservation are put into a Holding Account.

What you need to know about using Holding Account Vacation Points:

You can use these Vacation Points for a new Disney Vacation Club Resort reservation during your current Use Year as long as you book the reservation 60 or less days before the new check-in date.

These Vacation Points can be used for an exchange during your current Use Year in two ways:
For The Disney Collection (except Disneyland® Resort hotels in California), Concierge Collection or Adventurer Collection if you're making the reservation more than 4 months before the end of your Use Year for a check-in date that is 60 or less days away.
For Disneyland Resort hotels in California and the World Passport Collection as long as the reservation is booked 60 or less days before the new check-in date.
These Vacation Points cannot be banked or borrowed.
These Vacation Points must be used to complete travel by the end of the Use Year or they will expire.

it's a timeshare. a "home away from home." the costs are shared by the members.

so if one member (or their guest/renter) wants a lot of extra attention, then they should pay for that specifically.

1.) I have been reading that in many cases the amount of TP etc. has not been sufficient. What happens if you run out prior to your 4th day service? Can you just call housekeeping for more?

i've never heard of TP running out but yes, housekeeping will replace it at no charge if you need more.

if you haven't already bought in, this is one area where it's good to learn how use years work and which one to get to minimize the risk of losing points if you have to cancel.

And if you bring some detergent you should be good to go on towels. Just toss them in washer while finishing to get ready for the park and throw in the dryer as you walk out the door... You'll have fresh towels when you get in!

Other than that the trash and housekeeping issue isnt that big of a deal. You may have to tidy up on your own a bit, but the cost would be much higher if you got housekeeper service on a daily basis.

...Trash & Tidy was on the 4th. They come in & tidy up the place take your trash & replenish cups, bowls etc. ....

They don't call it Trash and Tidy anymore because people thought they actually did tidy the place. Now it is known as Trash and Towels. They replace the towels and other bathroom supplies (shampoo, toilet paper, etc) and kitchen supplies (trash bags, paper towels, dish detergent) and supply one more single use box of Tide if you are in a one bedroom or larger AND they remove the trash. No bed making, no vacuuming.

If you stay seven nights or fewer, you get this on day four with day one the day you check in. If you stay eight nights or more, you get a full cleaning on day 4 with Trash and Towels on day eight.
