We are considering the DVC and have some questions for the experts on this site.

Are there other WDW resorts besides the DVC resorts where DVC members can stay using their points? (If yes what are these resorts?)

Does it make sense to join the DVC if you are only going to go to WDW every other year?

Would it be difficult to sell your points on the years you are not going to WDW?

Thanks for your help! :bounce:

Yes, you can use points at other WDW resorts (but not WL, BC, BW) but you don't get the best bang for your buck. It's much better to use your points at DVC resorts. You can bank your points from year to year and go every two years for a really good vacation. Or you can use your points at other timeshares. You need to read the DVC FAQs at the top of the list.

You don't sell your points, you rent your points and it can be difficult. Don't buy DVC with a plan to rent your points. Buy DVC with the plan to go on a vacation.

lynda....first of all, welcome to the DIS Boards! :)

And, as Deb & Bill said, DVC is a good option as long as you plan to go at least every three years.

If you plan to go every other year, you just bank your points and use two years' worth to make one reservation every other year. The advantage of this is that you can buy the minimum (150 points) and have 300 points at your disposal every other year. 300 points can make a really nice vacation depending on how large of accommodations you need and what time of year.

You do have to pay the annual dues even if you bank. Right now, they're a little under $4 a point.

Good luck with your decision.
