We're thinking about buying a Disney timeshare. But the Disney info. wasn't very helpful. What I was wondering was do DVC people get the same priveleges as resort guests, early entry and such? And how do we use our points for the cruise or at another Disney hotel like they list in the informational video. Thanks for any help.

DVC guests ARE resort guests. There is no distinction whether you're staying at a DVC resort, the All Stars, or the GF. All resort perks such as the early entry, free parking at the parks, etc, apply to DVC. Also, DVC guests receive some perks that regular resort guests don't get, such as free Valet parking at all the DVC resorts. (tips are of course still appropriate), and a slew of other discounts including restaurants, golf, mini-golf, tours, and such.

All point transactions go through Member Services' 800 number. When you call, you press "3" for DVC reservations. You press a different number if you want to use points for the cruise, or a regular WDW or DL hotel, or outside the Disney stuff completely (such as II). You just follow the prompts on the phone till you get to the correct CM who specializes in the accommodations you want to use your points for.

Hope this helps

I couldn't imagine buying simply from watching the video. I know that when I went through the presentation (twice) they talk about using points for the cruise and other resort hotels, but the best use of point is at the DVC resorts. There is also 10% discount at selected restaraunts throughout WDW, discounts on cash prices for rooms, discounts on AP's. Your best bet is to check out these boards and watch your replies. In a nutshell, DVC ownership does offer more than the typical resort guest would receive, with the exception of daily maid service while staying on points at a DVC resort...

It's easy to do but not the best use of points as the points required are much higher for non DVC resorts than the DVC resorts and you'll have more room and more amenities at DVC.

Agreed, studying these boards, both old and new posts will give you tons of info on which to base your decision. Here's a link that I found helpful for the basics:http://allearsnet.com/acc/dvc.htm

Good luck making your decision! :cool1:  :cheer2: :wave2:
