DVC Polynesian officially announced.

A question for you, and others, does BLT pay any kind of usage fee for the monorail, and/or maintenance? Is there anything in the documents, or budget financials of BLT? As my home base is VWL, I've never paid attention to if I am paying anything for the boat transportation, bus, ME, etc. I assume I am, I just never looked for the actual proof.

Yes, DVC owner do pay for the transportation options at their resort. For the stand alone resorts (SSR & OKW) they pay for all costs (bus and boat). For the other shared resorts they pay a portion of the total costs for that location. The portion is based on something like room capacity IIRC.

How will Poly DVC effect poolhopping? Any definite info, or just speculaton? Poly is my favorite pool, and would be disappointed if it was eliminated.

At this point, anything you hear about changes to the pool hopping perk for the Poly pools is just speculation.

But based on past history once a resort gets DVC pool hopping stops
I have not heard that pool hopping to the VGF has been stopped and only the BLT pool is off limits, probably because it is so small. AFAIK, the main Contemporary pool is still available for pool hoppers. The pools at the VWL are also still available as are the pools at the BWI/BWV. I'm not seeing a pattern.

I thought only Storm-along Bay and the pool at Jambo House were off limits..? Since they aren't adding rooms I don't think they would need to change things. If you need an RFID card to get in though, that would do it.

They are adding rooms via the water bungalows.

In addition, VGF has not opened yet. Once that opens, it is possible VGF guests will make the short walk to Poly pool resulting in problems for the Poly pool capacity.

OK, Maybe I missed it, but I know we have all been calling the bungalows GVs, and now we know they will only sleep 8, has anyone confirmed that they are going to be 3br for sure?

Since no details have been officially released by Disney (other than they are adding a DVC at the Poly), it's all conjecture and rumors, so no way to confirm.

Agree with Mike.

The intent to build bungalows can be confirmed in the plans filed with the South Florida Water Management District. Those plans could change but on the likelihood scale, total elimination of the bungalows is pretty low.

As for the makeup of the bungalows, that's more conjecture. Personally I think 20 full-blown Grand Villas with a nightly point cost commensurate with the setting and view is very unlikely. I think it will be more of a unique hybrid accommodation like the SSR Treehouses. They may sleep 8/9 but with additional space or amenities superior to any DVC Two Bedroom villa.

Just a guess, though...

Thanks, I thought there was no specific information as to the number of bedrooms for the bungalows, but wanted to check with the experts.

I agree I think they will be a 2br+ or a treehouse like room count and bedding set up

So what are all of the types of rooms that will be available?

Studios....and some type of bungalow which has not yet been defined. I'm with tjkraz that they're probably going to be like the SSR Treehouses..but that's just a guess.

Touche! Forgot all about the bungalows (we won't ever need them)!

I love the idea of enhanced studios. But I would not want my 2 year old living so close to the water. I want to see the design first, but it does not sound like the best plan for small kids. The over the water thing is better for honeymooners than moms with small kids.
