DVC Poly,... can you imagine?!

i don't think it would ever happen - does it even have the room around it?

i'd love to stay there though

this is the only space left and if they are going to build anything this would be the perfect place - at least that i can see.

monorail runs right through it too.

could be done if the built something the size of GF

DVC Poly!? The money would be flowing out of my wallet once it was available for sale. It would be an automatic sale from my perspective.

ohhh i can see the rumors flowing now LOL

With AKV, they've proved they are not adverse to converting existing hotel space into DVC units. And with GCV, they've proved they are not adverse to having very small DVC resorts. So I suppose that it's possible that someday they might convert an existing building or 2 at the Poly into DVC units.

No dream of mine. And the land you circled is pretty swampy, not very stable to build on.

I have a hunch that if that piece of property was buildable, it would have already been used for a resort. My guess is that Deb is right.

Before they added any DVC units at Poly, they better rehab the resort. When we there last year, I was a bit disappointed in how "worn out" the resort looked.

I love the Poly!! Since we have bought DVC we have not stayed there but my daughter always asks to go back!!

DVC Poly...my dream come true:cloud9:

Trivia: the parse of land indicated above was the intended location of the Venetian Resort, part of the original resort plan around the Seven Seas Lagoon (along with the Contemporary, Polynesian and Asian Resorts - the latter of which was to be built where the Grand Floridian is now). When various things required scaling back on the resorts, the plans were shelved, and then revived as the Mediterranean Resort.

However, when they did test pilings on the location, it was deemed that the land had not settled as well as they hoped and would have required extremely deep foundation pilings, so the plans were again scrapped.

They may be able to one day build there, but I don't believe they are any plans at all.

That is a pretty large chuck of land, I checked it out from the boat and monorail on our last trip. If you go to Waltdated World you can see artist drawings of the hotel that was originally planned for that very spot. I think it would be a great place for another resort :cool1:

the information on this board gets deeper and deeper everytime i come back:hippie:

by the way i would much rather love poly dvc over a CR I love the atmosphere though I only passed through on the monorail. LOVED IT WITH ALL MY HEART

I'd love a DVC at the Poly too, and I've sometimes wondered if they wouldn't take a building (or two) and convert them to DVC. What a perfect time to do the conversion if the resort needs rehabbed anyhow!

i tried that dot com site but only came up with a search engine. do you have a link for those drawings?

DVC Poly... I'm In! :woohoo:

I imagine if it ever happened it would be years from now before the real rumors even beagn swirling. Although I have no interest in DVC CR I would be very interested in Poly.
