DVC Point Transfer Rules

Mystery solved. I was at Boulder Ridge in June when a big portion of the resort flooded due to sprinklers. It didn’t affect my room, but they apparently gave them to me for any inconvenience. Nice gesture, but odd to give points expiring in 2 months, even odder not to tell me so I could use them sooner!

Starting to think about a trip in 2026 where I will have to use two contracts (same resort) with a different UY. This will involve 2026 points and borrowing 2027 points.

I'm less concerned about the 2026 points, but is there a restriction on when I can transfer my 2027 points between contracts? For example can I transfer the 2027 points in say December of this year?

You can transfer out 2027 points once you get to your 2026 UY...however, because transferred points can be borrowed now, its possible they have updated when you can do it.

Feb & Oct with the trip in early Dec.

So, a Dec 2026 trip is in your 2026 UY for both so you’d need the 2027 points in whichever membership you want to put the reservation

Because you will be booking in January 2026, id definitely contact MS to see if they have updated the rules that you can move the 2027 points before you officially enter either 2026 UY.

All though the ideal would be to have all the points in one contract and thus all the nights on one reservation, I'm also going to look at if I can make it the points work to booking individual reservations on each contract.

Honestly we do that and simply ask MS to link them. We have never had to change rooms.

I just don’t like to deal with transfers myself.

Yeah, the main benefit to doing the transfer is being able to book the whole stay at that particular resort all at once

Just to note, I received a transfer of March 2026 points in Feb 2025, which was before my June 25 UY started.

The CM we dealt with said at the time we could transfer any year we wanted.

MS have to be on the phone with both parties at the same time.

I have no idea how it to 3 way call.

My friend called MS as she had some things to do first and then I was called but I can’t remember if it was from member services or my friend.

The person who is transferring the points would call MS and let them know....then, that person would initiate a three way call using their phone and call the member who is receiving the points.....MS then confirms with both parties they want to do it, it is a final transaction and when both say yes, the transfer is completed.

The key is not to mention that money is changing hands because if you do, MS can't process the transfer....

To place a conference call on a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, open the Phone app, dial the first number, and tap the "Add call" button once the call connects. Then, dial the second number and tap "Merge" to combine the calls. You can add more participants by repeating the "Add call" and "Merge" steps. To end the conference call or disconnect a participant, tap the down arrow next to the participant's call and then tap "Drop".

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Start the first call: Open the Phone app and dial the first number. You can also select a contact from your contacts list.
2. Add the second call: Once the first call is connected, tap the "Add call" button (usually a plus sign).
