But if I move my June UY VGF points to my Dec UY membership, I can use them together with my VGF Dec UY points at 11 months or use them with my resale RIV points at RIV at 7 months.
Great example! I think what confused early in the days was the UY month and the UY window.
To make sure I understand everything correctly now (and as a learning for anyone new to
DVC),
1. June UY (month) is different from Dec UY so that they become two different memberships under the same member rather than one. This is why they can't be used for one reservation. Once the points are transferred, the points are on the same membership making it possible to be used for one reservation. But these points keep their original properties.
2. UY indicates the time window the points can be used for.
2025 points of the June UY membership can be used for stays between June 1 2025 and May 31 2026.
2025 points of the Dec UY membership can be used for stays between Dec 1 2025 and Nov 30 2026.
To book a stay starts July 1 2026 at RIV, using combined points, the booking window opens at the 7-month mark, which is Dec 1 2025. However, to use them together for this stay, the 2025 points of the June UY needs to be banked (to become 2026 June UY points) in order to book a 2026 July stay. Before the new rule, sounds like you need to bank before transfer, while now you can transfer first and then decide whether to bank later.

I guess this is why many folks avoids multiple UY
