DVC Point Charts for 2011 - Post chart release discussion begins on Pg 14

This is just the main DVC marketing page for non-members - what am I missing? I can't find any point charts anywhere.

Thanks, Tiger :)

Nothing as of lunchtime. Maybe they'll do it right after MS closes for the day?

I just for a News Alert email from dvcmember.com, but nothing about points. I did find out there is a new feature pool going in at SSR...

Quick comparison of BWV charts also shows flattening of difference between weekday and weekend nights. 7 night stays are about the same (within a few points) except that Premier Season rates have been adjusted some. For those of us who tend to stay a week, not earth-shattering. Those who have stayed weekdays and not weekends may have problems again, like last year.

Interesting that the AKV chart includes a column for a GV with a Standard View. I had thought they were all Savanna Views.

It also looks like a one-week Concierge stay is more expensive in most/all room types and seasons. Need to examine it more closely but it looks like most of them went up.

The flames are going to start soon as they increased weekday stays again. I will say though, I only joined in June 08, but this is starting to bother me. As soon as I join, there's reallocations every year!

Maybe they reclassified one of them. I know I had a 1BR that had a very questionable Savanna View.

Was looking at a couple of the points charts and while I see that they lower the gap between weekdays and weekends, am I missing something or for the most part did they also make the harder to get rooms even harder to get now?

Note, I primarily looked at 1 BR's and studio's.

I looked at BLT. Standard rooms have lower points and MK have higher. Both I think make it harder. The standard rooms were the cheapest so they went quickly and now being cheaper will probably go even faster. MK rooms are the most sort after and by raising the pts for most times might eliminate a lot of people from being able to book those.

SSR, while there are no hard to get rooms, just annoyed that they raised the pts on 1 BR's.

BWV. Looks like standard rooms went down in pts. Never tried to stay there and if I did I would do a BW view but from my understanding because of the low pts standard rooms are hard to come by.

To me, if you wanted to flatten out the pt diff, couldn't you just have kept the pts the same for the week and just modified the per week day/weekend. Understood that slight overall change my be needed here and there but looks like most weeks changed up/down.

I've never stayed in one, but there is one at Jambo House that is close to the pool.

Wow!! The weekend points are really dropping!

In the past there have been several threads of why the weekends are so much higher and in 2011 that will not be the case if these charts are any indication. I know our pattern has changed in the last couple of years due to flying more.

This last holiday season, we paid 98 points a night for the Fri and Sat between Christmas and NYE in a THV. It is 66 in 2011. The weeknights went up about 12 points per night.

it figures it wouldnt work out for me.
im booking 3 nights before the wonder repo cruise.
the points went up just for three nights from 51 points in a studio to 90 points.
a one bedroom from 102 points to 186 points.
they moved these dates to the most expensive time.
does easter come later in 2011 than in 2010?

Those who like to stay in an Epcot area studio will really notice the difference. BW standard view studios for a week will be 76/78/104/108/150 and BCV studios will be 107/107/120/134/181 for a week. That's a pretty big difference and BW standard studios are likely to be even harder to get, even for BWV owners.

Yes and I've always wondered what the view is like from that GV since it's right at the end of the Uzima Savanna. I'm not familiar with the locations of the GVs in Kidani so I don't know whether there is a GV there with a similar view issue.
