DVC Online Tour---$40 gift card?

I called today and spoke to someone. The call lasted about 13 minutes They said the giftcard should come in about 45 days or about 1 week after the packet of info. Thanks DIS!

Good to know, I got my packet today...no gift card.. Still have hope

Thanks for that info. I was on the phone less than 10 minutes, they just pulled up our information confirmed my email and address and said they will email me the materials and send the gift card via fed ex.

$40 for our next trip in March

Bummer - I got the PC yesterday and was going to call today but we are DVC members. Not fair. We lose out on a lot of things like free dining.

Something tells me you should be able to use a $40 gift card once you get to Disney World. So I wouldn't be too upset about missing your payment due date. If the Gift Card is burning a hole in the your pocket there is always pre-paying for the PhotoPass CD for $99.95.

Very true--My final payment is due right after the new year and it is my big hope to be able to eliminate as much out of pocket on that part as possible. We have been saving our Rewards points for a few years in anticipation of taking our kids for the first time. This was just one more little savings!!!

I am sure there will be plenty of uses for it at the World if it does not come, but the PhotoPass CD is a great idea...

DH just called. We did not receive the postcard, but figured we'd take a shot. He just said "I'm calling about the online tour for the $40 gift card." They asked for the 6 six digits of his account--never asking if he got the postcard.

She said the card will be here in 6-8 weeks. She's also sending coloring books in the packet for our kiddos. We will save those for the surprise trip in May.

We're in the same boat - rec'd the gift card, but no pkt. And I agree - that is most likely a very good thing!!

Called, did the tour, got the packet, waiting for gc for our March trip!
Took about 15 minutes....wish I could always make $40 for every 15 minutes of work!

I got my $40 gift card in a little over a week and I have already used it to take advantage of the sales and free shipping on Disney shopping to get myself a new Disney Dooney bag

I did the tour more than two weeks ago and still no card. I did get the packet right away.

Sadly, the fedex guy was here last week and I went out to the door to meet him thinking that he had my gift card and that I needed to sign for it. Unfortunately, what he did have was my Christmas present from DH. Usually I don't even hear the truck come in, but I just happened to be near the window when he came up.

I finally "got" why people sign up for the DVC but still wasn't convinced I was ready to sign up for that commitment.

THANK YOU DISBOARDS. I never would have known about this without you guys. This $40 plus my $100 gift card for signing up for a Disney Visa (again, from a Disboards tip to go through this link instead of the general public one) completely covers our dinner at 'Ohana + tax/tip and then some. I'm so grateful for this community.

The dispatcher greeted me by name, which really made me feel like they were expecting my call. I'm not sure if it's because I did a tour a few years ago for the $25 card (also a DIS tip) or because I'm listed in Disney's reservation system, but either way it's pretty cool because I never even got the postcard. I just verified the first 6 digits of my card and went on to my sales rep. I'm consistently blown away by the Disney company's level of service.

Just did my tour!!! $40 coming my way It was very painless and the tour guide was so nice and no pressure. Much better than my in person tour this past June! He didnt even ask about the first six digits on my card. I would SO love to buy into DVC, but the time is just not right now. Oldest graduating college in May, getting married in July, next oldest heading to college fall 2013. So many expenses!

He said OK, and that my gift card would be there in about 30 days. That was IT! Most painless timeshare "presentation" I've ever been through. --Katie

Just got my Disney Visa in the mail today so the first thing I used it for was to do the tour. Thanks so much to the OP for the easiest $40 I've ever made!

I did my tour on 12/7 and we leave 1/5. I really hope the gift card comes before then! I wished they just would have mailed it with the packet of info!!

I just got off the phone with Gabe. He is the one I spoke with in August when I received a mailer for a $25 gift card for calling DVC. He mentioned that since I just received all the info in August that it was a mistake that I got this mailer. He said people are randomly pulled from the Disney credit card database so they have no way knowing if anyone has already taken the tour.

I asked him if I still qualified for the $40 GC and he said "normally no, but I will send this to someone to see if they can push it through."

I guess I will keep my fingers crossed that I get the GC.
