DVC Nightmare?

I was just curious if anyone has ever confirmed a room through MS and found that they did not have a room on arrival day? The reason I'm asking is because I have a room booked at the Boardwalk in June but it's not showing up on the official Disney World website. I have several other trips booked this year and they're all showing up on the Disney World "My Vacation" section with the exception of the June Boardwalk reservation. I called MS and they confirmed that my reservation is in the system. :confused3

Actually, until very recently, DVC reservations never showed up on the regular Disney World website. As long as MS confirms that it looks OK in their system, I wouldn't worry about it.

you need to go look in the dvcmember site - if it is there you are fine.

dvc reservations made through MS don't show up on my vacation - at least mind never have.

As I mentioned, I'm concerned because all of my other reservations are listed except one. I'm aware that DVC has it listed but what about the Boardwalk. Do they know I have a reservation? I even called Boardwalk to ask and they said that I needed to contact DVC since they made my reservation. What do I do if I show up for check-in and the Boardwalk doesn't have my reservation? :rolleyes1

don't worry if DVC has it there - it is there.

CRO (my disney vacation) and MS - are two different systems.

would be highly surprised if any of your MS reservations (DVC points) were on my vacation - mind never are.

of course that works for you.

since WDW does not realize that we are going to WDW more often than it thinks - sometimes we get the email discounts that they only give to guests who have not been back in years!

so be very, very happy the DVC reservations using points don't show up in my vacation.

I always bring my confirmation paper that was mailed out to me. If there's a problem I will just show them my confirmation.

I'm not sure if you said that you checked the dvc member website? If not check and see if it's listed. I wouldn't worry if it is there. JMHO.

Did you call DVC as the Boardwalk suggested? If DVC has your reservation, then the Boardwalk will have it when you arrive. There is no reason to be concerned unless DVC says they don't have your reservation.

To answer your question, I have never ever showed up to any DVC and not had a room that I confirmed I booked through MS.

I agree with the others, until very recently, DVC reservations were not showing on Disney's website. There seems to be some kind of testing going on but it is nowhere near complete or official information. They are also reporting a balance due which is not correct, since we paid with points, so why trust the other information as fact?

None of my reservations are showing on the main site, but Im not stressed about it, because that neither confirms or denies my reservations. Member Services does that and always has.

The resorts do not access DVC reservations until a few weeks prior to check in so that is why they sent you back to DVC.

What I would do if I was concerned, I would take my confirmation with me to check in.

I've always received my room when booked. But I have had issues with not getting my room until VERY VERY late; 9pm on one occassion and after 10:30PM on another occassion. Both times were at the same resort and both times I had checked in around 1030/11 AM. We always check in early upon arrival from the airport and had thought we'd be waiting until 4pm as is expected. But never had I imagined we would still be waiting for our room at 9 or 1030 PM. Talk about a nightmare...

Which resort caused you to wait until 9:00pm and 10:00pm to get your room? Did they compensate you in any way???

boy that is just awfully!!!

did you tell DVC about this - did you see the manager and ask for explanation.

now sometimes the DVC villa are trashed - and it take housekeeping a while to fix them back. but this long wait was not exceptable.

if this ever happens again - start screaming and demand an explanation.

DVC does it to itself - the rooms they are surpose to kept for maintence issues (which this probably was) they are renting out....

if it was OKW - definitely the management!!!! have not been happy with them in a couple of years. they are doing a lousy job and members are paying for it.

we pay more in maintence fees and get less and less for the money.

I dont want to hijack the thread from the op and/or turn this into a resort bashing. That was not my intent. I just wanted the OP to be aware that issues can/do occur occassionally...

chic - feel free to PM me for further info

I thought that check-in was now stated as AFTER 4PM. That pretty much says that as long as they get you in before midnight they're covered.

I don't especially think that is right, but we're not guaranteed check-in by a certain time. :sad2:

Assuming that you've checked with MS and have printed out a paper copy of your reservation, you simply present that to the front desk manager.

I still don't get why you are thinking you are going to be denied your room. Along these lines, here is some other stuff to worry about:

- What if you get to the airport and they say you never bought a ticket?
- What if TSA says you are on the no-fly list and you can't get on the plane?
- What if you get to the gate and the gate agent insists on separating you from your infant, who will have to sit by herself 16 rows behind you?
- What if you actually make it to MCO and then find out that every rental car is gone, and National/Hertz/Avis/Alamo/Dollar/Budget says you have no reservation?
- What if, having foreseen that you will not be able to get a rental car, you make a reservation with ME, and when arriving at the ME desk, they say they never heard of you?
:scared1: :scared1:

I'll take unnecessary worrying for $1000, Alex...

Kathi OD- If check in is after 4:00, then my room should be available at 4:01. I had a situation a few years ago at the Polynesian where I checked in at 3:30 and my room wasn't ready. This was a cash reservation and check-in was after 3:00. They told me my room wasn't ready and check in was after 3:00. I stated it was 3:30 which is "after" 3:00 and I need my room. The desk clerk went to speak to a manager and immediately assigned me another room.

Developer Incentive Points Didnt Show Up On Dvc Site, everything Else Did For Me..

I guess I've been really lucky in the past to not have waited until 9:00 or 10:00 for my room. We have a 14 month old girl which causes us to return from the parks as early as 8:00. What would the resort expect us to do if our room wasn't ready yet? I guess they would find us a room quick if we rolled out on the lobby floor and went to sleep! :rotfl: I honestly hope this type of situation never arises. So far, we have been tremendously pleased with our DVC investment.
