DVC Merry Mixer - Who is going?

I can tell you that they checked everyone's ID (that I could see) and asked if the children with me were my own!

Did they check both husband and wife? DW is not sure where she put here card since I always do most of the Disney planning.

we'll be there on the 27th! Does anyone have pics of the DVC pins?

DH and DD were there yesterday and said it was awesome. They didn't get there until around 4 and by the time DH got to the front of the pin line he said there were only 2 choices left. I think he said they told him they were originally 5 or something (I could be wrong but I know they told him there were more than the two that were left). Also after they did that (dd danced while he waited in line) and the craft only Daisy and Donald were left for photos. So - if you want pin choices and Mickey and Minnie get there early! But no matter what make sure you go. :)

We will be attending on the 27th. My mom and dad will be travelling with us, will they be allow to attend?

I am so sorry that I wasnt able to make the mixer. I did Epcot's future world that morning, and needed a break in my room!

If anyone has pics, please post! :goodvibes

We just returned from our trip on the 24th. We went to the mixer on the 20th. I will say this was one of the highlights of our trip. It was MUCH better than the MVMCP we attended. My kids had a lot of fun dancing to the DJ and hanging out with all the characters. I just wished they had a different selection of cookies. We are not big sugar cookie fans. They were awesome looking treats though...

We didn't make it to the mixer. :sad1: With a flight that landed at 1:50, we figured we'd have some time to attend. However, Magical Not Express didn't get us to our resort until 4:00  (and we needed to eat some lunch!). So we had to pass on the mixer. If only it had been a day later (we were at EPCOT that day, and could have easily attended then). Oh well! At least we stopped in Doorway to Dreams when we were at Woodfield back in November, and received our ornament.

Here are some pics from the 12/20 mixer. The cookies were the very fancy decorated sugar cookies that they also sell in the parks for about $3 each. They also had a macadamia brownie and some smaller decorated cookies as well as some sugar free cookies. The spiced cider and ice water was also good to wash it down with.

We went on the the 6th and the 20th. It was a very nice gathering.

The cookies were HUGE! popcorn::

How crowded do these events tend to get? Is interaction with the characters easy?

We also returned on the 24th and went to the mixer on the 20th. It was a great event, definitely the highlight of our trip. You should have tried the cookie bar / brownie that was served. It was wonderful. I took a few pictures.:santa:

Thank You Thank You!!!

I am so sorry I had to miss this! Thanks so much for letting me see what it looked like. Mickey and Minnie looked so cute!

Returned home on the 23rd and attended the Mixer on the 20th. Also did MVMCP the eve of the 20th. I'll echo others sentiments that this was far better than Mickey's Christmas Party - simply too many people.
There was plenty to do for young and old alike; Dancing, pin trading/buying, pics with characters, roaming elves and Ms. DVC herself. Guides were available with information for anyone that may have questions. And those treats....... WOW! The snowman ornament upon departure was most unexpected and a nice added bonus.

Thanks to those that posted pictures.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Do they do something like this in the summer? Just curious because we are going in June and would love to have some type of party to attend. We really enjoyed it. I actually see my son dancing in 1 of those pictures... :lmao: He was in the final 4 for the twist.

I got a call today from DVC in response to an email that I sent telling them how much we enjoyed the Merry Mixer. The lady I spoke with said that they try to do these several times a year. She said that she had attended one last summer. Keep your eyes and ears open for info on the next mixer.
