DVC Merry Mixer - Who is going?

Dec 6 here, but have to leave at 4 Dinner at 4:30 at Moma melrose.

We are planning on going Dec. 6. Can we bring our daughter and her fiance who are staying with us, or is it strictly members only?

I'll be there on 12/27!

Can you please fill me in on what goes on at a mixer? We've never gone before, being new members, and I'd like to know what to expect. I can't talk DH into going. Can you bring a guest? One last question, where exactly is it taking place? I appreciate everyone's input. :)

The Merry Mixer takes place outside the International Gateway near EPCOT. It is in the area that the old tram system used to use. There is a large tented area where cookies and punch are available. There is an area for Children's games. There are areas for character pictures. There is also a table set up for purchases of pins, etc. Upon leaving, you get a Member Ornament. It's set up like an open house. You can stay as long as you want.

We will be there on Thursday, Dec 6 before we head out to dinner and MVMCP.

This mixer really is fun. Your DH will be able to tolerate it at the very least and will probably even enjoy himself.

The beauty of the mixer is that it's not a formal, structured type of event.

It runs from 3pm-5pm and you can go for 5 mins or the entire two hours. It's up to you. People come and go as they please during those two hours.

At the very least, convince him to go in and get some cookies and hot chocolate. He can browse the vendor tables and laugh at the characters (and people dancing with the characters--see pictures below) and then get his free gift as he leaves.

Are you staying in the Boardwalk area...or planning on being at EPCOT on a Thursday? If so, go and enjoy for a few minutes (be sure to bring your DVC member cards).

It's right outside the International Gateway on your way towards the BCV and Boardwalk.

Thanks for the input. Can I bring a guest that is not a dvc member?

Wow! We posted at the same time earlier (see pictures above).

I don't know if you can bring guests, but I doubt that they would turn them away either....unless there were a HUGE number of guests with you.

When DH and I went 2 years ago, I had my DVC card but he didn't. They didn't even ask either of us for our cards though. So I say give it a try. It's good for DVC sales anyway. Maybe your guests will want to buy someday. :upsidedow

Yes they will allow guests. Guest that are non-DVC owners are prespective future DVC owners.

The dj and the music always remind me of the cruises. Kids seem to have a great time and there were paper ornaments to decorate with glue and glitter in 2005. Mickey and Minnie were there in holiday attire too.

Hi,

If they give away an ornament this year, I would love to trade someone last years for this years. Just send me a PM.

Thanks,
Carole
