According to my calculations we will save about 8-9 dollars per day per person - not much but enough to give it a try.

I see DDE being used, does anyone have a link to what this is? At first, I thought this was a typo, but several people have used it.

Thank you.

DDE = Disney Dining Experience. It is a discount card (20%) for table service and buffet restaurant, and a few counter service locations.

DDE is available to Florida Resident or any Annual Passholder.

We tried it on our last stay for a quick 3 night trip and it was just a lot of food. For the kids it's a good deal because they eat as if they have hollow legs, but for dh and I - not so much.

We probably won't do it unless we stay in a studio because we don't mind cooking and it just isn't that great of a value.

We just back and already used it.

I have now gone to WDW with 2 groups. Both groups had kids and were cost conscious. The 1st group deemed the '07 dining plan too expensive, the 2nd group decided to go with the '08 dining plan.

The 1st group insisted on going off property constantly. We skipped Fantasmic for Texas Roadhouse! We constantly missed rope drop to fry bacon!

The 2nd group had a very trouble free trip. Our only concern was having a good time. :)

I wonder if any management looks at these polls?
70 to 30 not using the plan...maybe they need to re-think the plan for 2009!

Doubtful that they will, this is the normal life cycle for Disney packages.

I voted "no" but I would have preferred a "probably not" option. I will make my ADRs and then look to see if it makes sense.

I voted no. We did the DDP last year and loved it. Yes it was ALOT of food but we ate at a lot of different places that we would've never tried without the DDP. It was fun to try so many different places. I thought it was gonna be difficult to make all our ressies at so many places but it really wasn't, it was fine. Removing the appetizer doesn't make much of a difference to us but having to pay the tip really puts it over the edge and adds quite a bit! We usually stay for approx 12 nights so it adds up quickly.

We are The Appetizer family not Desert family. That alone makes it not worth it to us. We had used it for the last 4 trips, this is so sad to not have it for our next trip. I guess we will go back to the Old way of eating at Disney. I have the DDE card, this will be some help.

We won't be buying this either.

We like the freedom of no reservations. Just grab a bite to eat when we are hungry.

We Used It Last Year, And This Year With The Changes We Decided Not To And Now We Are Going To Try Restaurants That Dont Accept The Plan Just For Something Different.

Our children are 7 and 5 and they enjoy eating at WDW so it is still a good deal for us. We hit at least a couple character buffets each trip and with them approaching $30 for adults and $15 for kids we will still save a lot of money on DDP.

I'll be using it for my October visit. I'm coming down with a friend to see the Halloween party and it works well for us for that 3 day visit.

We will not be using the DDP. Instead, we will be using the DDE. The DDE was a better deal for us last year and it will be an even better deal for us this year.

According to my math and our dining habits it just works out that way.
