DVC members and annual passes

My parents are DVC members. I understand that DVC members and their immediate family...those living with them, can get the discounted annual pass rate. I am living with my folks, so I am eligible for the discount.

If I ordered an annual pass using the DVC membership discount, would the actual DVC member have to be present when picking up the pass? Or, could I just show my mother's DVC membership card and my license without her being present?

I am looking to take a trip, and parents would not be along so wasn't sure if I could take advantage of the $100 off or not.

Please advise....

AFAIK, the member doesn't actually have to be present to exchange the voucher for the actual pass.

You should be fine as long as you have your mother's Blue membership card and the address on your photo ID (Driver's license) matches your mother's address. Might be a good idea for your mother to write and sign a note saying that she is the member and that you are her son - especially if her last name is different from yours.

Were I in your position, I'd ask my Mom to call MS and ask them the question.

I wanted to purchase AP's before my solo trip in January and wanted to use our families discount. I noticed my parents needed to be there too so a couple weeks ago dad and I called member services. They allowed me to purchase the AP over the phone with them. Then 2 days later they called with a number I need to present to whomever I give the voucher to along with showing my license. I think the number is a "case number" that the CM can look up and see that DVC ok'd me getting the pass without the actual DVC owner with me as long as my address on my photo id matches my parents address. Hope it works out for you!
