Hi DVC members!

Do any of you know how to get a DVC member card for members of your family who are adults? My mom is curious to know how I can get my own card. (She may be cutting me off her DVC card, but at least she's not cutting me off. ;) )

Also, I'm assuming that even if I do get a card ordered, that card may not arrive before we depart for our trip in mid-January-- Have any of you had experience with a child (and in child I mean 20 y.o.) in your party carrying your DVC member card and using it for discounts? My best friend is coming on our trip and we're grabbing dinner in DTD while my parents dine at Jiko. Can I carry my mom or dad's card and use it for discounts? Not sure if they'll check that my credit card won't match up with the DVC card or if they will ask for an ID.

Thanks so much! Happy holidays!

The only way to get your own DVC membership card is if you are added to the deed. When staying at DVC resorts using your membership, your room ID will state "DVC Member" which may be used for most discounts. Using your parent's card might work, but be prepared to possibly need to provide photo ID to match the information on the member card.

I'd just use the room ID.

Enjoy your trip! :)

My parents looked into this for my sister, since my husband and I have our own DVC points. It was going to be $300 to put her on the deed. That was in Sept. of 2008. You can be on there as an associate member, you can make reservations and check availibility and such, but you don't get a card.

I agree with not bothering with your own membership card at this point since your room key will get you the discounts. (if the reservation was made on points)
