DVC Member Room Discount paying cash?

Does anyone know what Discount is that DVC members receive on room rates when they are not using their points?

It is subject to availability. They only allow the discount if they anticipate the room will not be needed for a points reservation, it comes from the points inventory of rooms.

I'm in the same predicament. No cash discount for a Friday/Saturday reservation in February. I was told to keep calling back as it may come available. Will this be an futile exercise?

If Disney told you to keep calling back, I would assume that this discount falls under their general discount codes policy. Disney only allows 100 of each discount code per resort per night. They told you to keep calling back in case someone cancels and a discount becomes available again. Its not pointless - people cancel. Keep calling...and depending on when you are going in Feb., there are usually other great discount codes availible too. I stayed at WL last Feb with a discount code for 40% off, that wasnt DVC's. So there should be something. You can also ask if there is a managers special or a compareable rate to DVC rate. Disney isnt too helpful in just offering up savings info, so make sure you ask.

It's a judgement call at member services if the rooms will not be needed for points reservations. Their main priority is to have rooms available for members who want to book them with points. The closer you get to the date, if there are still unbooked rooms they may release some for cash. If you have an annual pass, you could check for best rate online, I think it's available until 2/15 now. Which resort and dates are you looking for?

There is no DVC discount for non-DVC resorts. You might want to try the AP rates if you have one.
