DVC member don't get a discount on Dining - Sad

At Disneyland, pretty much every restaurant is discounted 10%. That includes both high demand locations like Goofy's Kitchen and Trader Sam's, as well as signature locations like Steakhouse 55 and Carthay Circle Restaurant.

So apparently someone sees a value in offering across-the-board discounts there.

I don't think the Disneyland restaurants fill up like WDW's. They have more day guests that will go outside of the park to eat. Deluxe AP Holders (the one with blackout dates) get 10% on dining & merchandise, same as DVC. Premium AP Holders (no blackout dates) get 15% and 20% on merchandise. The flipside is DVC members don't get much of a ticket discount there.

People don't rush to book Disneyland restaurants like they do at WDW, that's true. But I was more addressing the claim that Disney only offers discounts at restaurants which need the business.

Locations like Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe and Carthay Circle consistently pull larger crowds than many other dining outlets. Even on the counter service side, you could point to restaurants which always seem to be busy, and clearly have an above-average draw when compared to others...places like Flo's, Taste Pilot's Grill and Hungry Bear come to mind.

Passholders (locals) do have many more area dining options. DVC members...not so much. Guests staying at VGC aren't packing a lunch or driving off-site in any great numbers.

Have you logged into your account to see how much they'll charge you for the dining plan? It's pretty easy to find.

:wizard:Thank you Supersnoop . It took me a minute to find it :surfweb:, CM had the wrong information .
As others have said.
The QS is $39.64, Regular Dining is $58.66 and the Deluxe Dining is $104.94 Per Adult Price (didn't check for children-Adults only trip) . Thank you all pixiedust:pixiedust:

3) DVC members are eligible to purchase a Tables In Wonderland card which gives a 20% discount at even more restaurants on property.

Unless you have kids (ages 3-9) and do a lot of character meals and buffets, the dining plan is never worth the money. With the DVC and TiW discounts available, we, as members, get much better deals than the average Disney tourist.

Totally agree. And would even say that if you have more than 2 kids (ages 3-9) and eat on average 1 table service a day, TIW is better than the dining plan.

Plus the TiW discount also applies to adult beverages.

Current CRO Pricing (effective 3/20/2014):
QSDP: $41.99 (adults), $16.03 (children)
DDP: $60.04 (adults), $19.23 (children)
DxDP: $109.53 (adults), $29.86 (children)

Current DVC Pricing (effective 1/1/2014):
QSDP: $39.64 (adults), $15.75 (children)
DDP: $58.66 (adults), $18.88 (children)
DxDP: $104.94 (adults), $29.51 (children)

And effective with January 1, 2015 DVC members will probably pay the same rate as the CRO price, we just have not officially heard about the change yet.

That's how it always is. The deal is that DVC adjusts and sets their price for the dining plan annually.

So it isn't subject to mid-year price changes. But at the end of every year it adjusts to wherever CRO is currently at. It isn't a "discount", rather just a rate that only adjusts upward once a year.
