Does anyone know if we can cancel the dining plan when we check-in to BCV next Monday?

DH & I are on the fence about it for this trip, although we've done it for all our past trips.

You will need to call member services and cancel the plan at least 48 hours prior to your arrival date. If you are still trying to decide this close to your trip, it likely would be best to simply cancel, or take the time to go over the menus and add up what you would normally eat, in other words, if you don't normally eat dessert, don't add it into your normal total, and see if the DDP actually saves you any money. Also, if you prefer appetizers, like salads or soups rather than dessert, then the plan is probably not good for you.

Ok thank you Chuck. 48 hours leaves us with a little time to go over the menus and such.

We have always done the dining plan, but this past month DH's doctor has ordered a major lifestyle change for him....he has gone almost total vegan (this is a guy who loves meat & always eats prime rib in Disney). Oh he's not a very happy guy with all this.

If you are a AP holder, you might want to consider the DDE card.

I presume you know that the 2008 DDP is but a shadow of the former plan. Neither appetizer nor gratuity are included now, and snack options have drastically reduced. It's not the plan it once was, and it may not make sense for you this time.

The Disney restaurants are always great about accommodating special dietary needs. That will not be a problem. The question will be whether you will still get worthwhile value with DDP. You'll just have to look at the menus, do the math and see. You certainly won't be looking forward to Le Cellier in the same way, but the convenience of the plan might still make it worthwhille.
