DVC Member annual passes are $149 less than the regular price?

DVC Member AP and FL Resident AP prices are now the same (Still not eligible for FL Resident only tickets).

The larger member discount made the net price increase on the DVC Member AP only $6 (before sales tax).

So what is the price for a member AP?

We didn't renew our AP (not dvc discounted) because we are planning a cruise this year and not sure we will go to the parks this year.

With a $149 discount, can I purchase a voucher and not activate it till we make our next trip to WDW (not sure when---maybe sometime in late 2013 as we hope to visit Aulani in Spring or Fall 2013).

TIA

Yes. I have 4 remaining vouchers in my inventory from purchases I made several years ago. Mine are renewal vouchers so they renew the AP without a break in time. You can buy a new AP voucher now and not use it untillate 2013.

I thought you could only buy renewal vouchers 30 days in advance of expiration.

I was actually debating wether I should buy a few. Do you think the discount will last or will they increase to match the regular AP increase? I know it's usually only $100 discount. I have 1 voucher already but may buy the other 3 I would need. Won't activate until November 2013.

If anything changes, it won't be until the next WDW ticket price increase. DVC Annual Passes are not discounted APs, but unique tickets with their own price points. Same goes for the FL Resident APs.

We are using YEStickets for our upcoming trip and will likely be heading to DL in 2013, but would be interested in purchasing vouchers to lock in the current rate if they will still be good in 2014 for activation. Does anyone know if they would be good for 2014+ activation?

I hate to stir the pot here but doesn't it seem sort of odd to tie up that much money for 2 years?

Exchange vouchers for WDW Annual Passes (including DVC APs) do not expire.

That is the current rule since I actually tried to renew earlier and was told I could renew only during to 60 day window (30 before and after expiration). However, years back I believe you could buy a renewal at any time and thus could buy multiple renewals and then save extras for later years and it sounds like that is what the poster did.

to some people, sure. To others, not so much.

It might seem difficult *now*, but a few years down the road when the prices have gone up much higher, it's got to feel GOOD to just pull out a voucher and not have to pay more!

Not quite the same, but about 2 years ago people were buying up the $99 Universal tickets (7 day, I believe). Now they don't even have that ticket, let alone that price, and plenty of people are still taking new vacations without having to lay out money for their much more expensive tickets! Bet it feels well worth it now!

Actually how you can do it now is once you have any AP that's up for renewal you can buy the renewal vouchers in whatever quantities and age brackets that you like. I only ever enter 1 AP in the system and then click renew and purchase all the APs we really need.

I wouldn't want to tie up that much money but I can see how you'd be able to purchase multiple vouchers.
