DVC MB and old KTTW with tickets

I need some Magic Band 101. We are DVC members. We have several park hopper non expiring days on old key cards.

WHat do we have to do now?

What are the basics off Magic bands?

I didn't know they ever added non expiring passes to room keys (not dating they didn't - we never had ours connected, the passes were always separate).

I would think if your old room key reads parks days that you can take them to guest services at a park and have the keys converted to tickets, then combine those tickets into one ticket, and that ticket would probably be able to be added to your magic band.

I don't know if you'll be able to do anything before visiting guest services though.

DH had a non-expiring ticket with 3 park days and 6 minor park days left. We stopped at Guest Services at the International Gateway and the CM exchanged it for a new plastic one. The CM even let him choose the character on the front! He's been using a PAP we purchased in last year's terrific deal.
