We did the DVC 'orientation' back in Oct. DH actually gave it a tiny bit of thought but, as we all know now, ultimately decided it was no good for us. I even asked him if I could ask the DVC rep at the WL (we were right there) if we could see a villa and he said 'naw'.
I know what he's thinking....it's not going to save him money on vacations...IF he doesn't take expensive vacations every year. In other words, it's better to just pay as ya go as there will (hopefully) be years he doesn't have to take a vacation. Now ask me what our accommodations were in Oct.....Club Level at the WL for a week! And that was the 2nd time for me that year! I did the same thing when my mom and I went last Feb! Tell me DVC isn't a good idea for us. Now, we're planning a trip with extended family in Feb '10. A 2BR sounds like a pretty good thing to me right now. I'm hoping I can buy in at CRV around the end of '09...if I can save up a sizable downpayment. If this is gonna happen I don't want to finance for more than a year or two max. Seriously, I don't need his approval or permission. You think he asks me for permission before he goes out and buys a Harley or a big tractor....for just 3 acres...that's MOSTLY wooded?! NOPE. We don't have the traditional marriage when it comes to $$. We lived together for a few years and always kept that separate. Marriage never changed that. He might not like what I've chosen to spend my $$ on (DVC) but he knows there's nothing he can say/do about it. Still, spouses should enter into this kind of deal together. Oh well. I'll either buy 160 points or 200...and add points later. It just depends on what I can scrape togther and what CRV's point scale is gonna be. I hope it's not gonna be out of my league. That would make me so sad.
Wow. I got a bit chatty in this post. Sorry 'bout that.
