Looking to use my points at Disneyland in 2004. Any suggestions for a family of 5. I don't know much about the hotes at Disneyland.

Thanks

Depending on the age of your kids the Grand Californian would be the best. The rooms have a quen bed and bunk bed and the bottom bunk has a trundle bed. So you can sleep 5 if you really have children, not teens. The bunks aren't bad for the teens but the trubdle might be a little small.

We are going in Jan for 9 days and it is costing 401 points for DTD view. We will postinfo after and during our trip.

Have fun

We used pts. to stay at Grand Californian and loved it. The rooms are a good size and the hotel & pool are beautiful. There are only four of us, but even being DVC-spoiled (DSs only want a 2 BD at WDW) we felt the room was spacious.

Nice to know Sueg. We. too plan to use points to stay there in August. We are new DVC members and have never been to DL as a family yet. Just curious, Did you have GC view, dtd view, or standard? How was your view? Thanks.

Jdkdorn: Did you ask for dtd? Are they the same number of points as CA view? I can not wait to hear about your upcoming trip.

Cinational: From the pictures I have seen of GC, the other posters are right on. The room with the bunks could sleep five and from what I have read on the boards, GC seems to be a favorite among many DLR visiters. However, DLH seems to be popular with famiilies too, having a cool pool. As you probably know, DLH costs less points too. I just don't know how well they fit five people, sorry, although I believe people have said DL rooms are bigger than a regular GC room so maybe they have cots?? We only have three in my family and we opted with the GC because of all the great reviews. Oh by the way, this Sunday at 9:30 am eastern time on the travel channel, they will have the GC featured on the Great Hotels segment. Maybe this will help somewhat.

Good Luck with your planning.:D

We requested DTD view and it is thesecond point range.

The four ranges are

standard(parking lot/street view)
DTD view
California Adventure View
Concierge

The concierge would have cost us 600 points. We can't rationalize that to ourselves. We have been told by many on the DL forum that is is possible to upgrade for $ to concierge if they have rooms available. We are goiong to check out that option.
