DVC Hawaii

We are west coasters and we won't buy there. If it was Maui at Kaanapali we prob would.

I wouldn't get there often enough to justify buying points there. But I'll gladly stay there if I can get in at seven months.

That said, I will buy in at Grand Californian the moment I am able to (assuming I am able to).

Just counting the days until we can purchase enough pts to go every other year. I can't imagine the MF being higher then VB or HHI, we rarely have hurricanes on the west coast :confused3 ...then again, it is the west coast and they charge you for air in your tires.....enough said :scared1:

Too soon to know. Have to see the numbers first. We might. Esp. if we haven't gotten around to any other add-ons yet by the time it goes on sale. We typically try to go to Hawaii once every 5 years. And from the way this survey is sounding we can't ALL get in at the 7 mo. window!

Since it's so far we prefer a 10 day trip - usually split between islands. Our fav. is Maui so we'd be tempted to buy more points there than on Oahu. But I could see buying enough for a 3-4 n stay at Ko'Olina. To spread the point requirement out over 3 years of banking & borrowing for just 3 or 4 n hopefully won't require a huge add-on. On the years that we didn't need the points for Hawaii we could just use them at the 7 mo. window somewhere else. Last time we went we were able to convert Amex points to Delta skymiles and covered our flights for all 3 of us. We also run a miles credit card and I tend to save the miles up to use for more expensive trips. We currently have enough that I could probably book 9 round trips to FL. But I'd rather pay cash for those flights as they're cheap in comparison and keep the miles for the expensive tickets!:thumbsup2 ($500 here and there VS $3,000 in one shot!) If our next trip in 2011 can be done on DVC points and miles I'd REALLY have no regrets settling up my bar tab!:goodvibes

I'm a West Coaster, but won't be buying into DVC Hawaii. DH and I would love to get in at the 7 month mark (if possible!), but I would rather have points at GCV. :goodvibes

Live in AZ and I won't be adding on Hawaii either. When I go back to Hawaii it sure won't be Oahu. I don't even think I will ever "waste" my points to stay at the Disney Oahu resort. Don't get me wrong I love Hawaii and wish I could go back every year!! I do plan on purchasing a timehare in Hawaii (Maui or Kauai) in the future but it won't be Disney. This is just my opinion, not intended to rub anyone the wrong way. :goodvibes

I myself will probably not buy into DVC Hawaii, but I am curious how it would be to stay at a DVC resort not located at a Disney park. So I would like try it out. I will be buying GCV. Can't wait for that to start selling.

You can't get much further from Hawaii than Maine...so nope, we are not buying. We will visit once every 4 years or so.

We're in the middle of the US but are considering buying the minimum so we can have the 11 month window. We probably won't go every year but maybe every couple of years or so. We'll have to see how expensive the points are but I could see us doing it.
