DVC guests using fitness center

My parents and their friends are using my DVC at BW next week. Will they be permitted to use the fitness center facilities at BW and what time does the center open? Thanks!

Yes... If you made the reservations for them ... when they check in their ID/Room card will say DVC Member. This gives them free access.

But only at the resort at which you are staying. DVC members have access to the fitness facilities at any DVC resort I believe regardless of where they are staying.

Didn't I just read about 24 hour access to Muscles and Bustles as a new perk for DVC members? I think I read that you have to register during daytime hours though. Anyone have better short term memory retention than I have? I remember reading it and laughing, because my idea of a perk would be 24 hour access to the bakery, not the gym.

Really? Is this recent? I was at BC with a friend during a conference and the gym attendent was going to charge her to use the club and yes she had a room there. As soon as I showed my DVC Member card he let her and us in for free.

Yes I read about that when we were there in December. And you are correct, you need to make arrangements ahead of time. But doesn't the fitness center already open pretty early, like 7am (or maybe it was 6am)? I remember reading about 24-hour access and wondering how many people want to work out between 11pm and 6am. This was a particular concern because we were staying in the closest studio to the fitness center and I wondered whether someone staying in that studio would hear people entering and leaving the fitness center in the middle of the night!

I think it has been at least 1 1/2 years now. Used to be there was a fee for health club access while DVC members were admitted for free. Sometime back in '05 WDW announced that all resort guests had free access to the workout facilities at their resort for the duration of their stay.

That's what I thought too and was kind of the reason I asked the question. I thought I read it somewhere but where oh where? Anyway, I had to call MS today and they confirmed that #1 -- my guests could use the gym and #2 -- CM stated that the hours are 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. but I thought I read that 24-hour thing somewhere!

'Health club tests 24-hour access option
For a limited time, Disney's BoardWalk Resort leaders are testing a special 24-hour operating schedule for the exercise equipment at the Muscles and Bustles Health Club as an exclusive benefit for Guests staying at Disney's BoardWalk Resort.

Guests staying at Disney's BoardWalk Resort may simply visit the health club between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. to register for the 24-hour exercise-equipment access throughout their stay.

At this time, leaders haven't established an end date for the test, so be sure to inquire at the health club during your next Disney's BoardWalk stay to see if this option is available.'

all dvc members can use any DVC gym/health club. that is all.

I think this option only applies to DVC members staying at BWV only.

the DVC resorts have the best gym - SSR, VWL and BWV are really some of the best.

what resort gym did you wish to visit that wasn't a DVC one?

I thought about trying the one at the GF. Though the Saratoga one is great. Wildnerness Villas is nice, but a bit small.

We were just at the BWV earlier this month. The boys used the gym after hours. You just had to go in before 9:00 p.m and they gave you a key or something. I know they used it several nights after 11:00 p.m.
