DVC Golf Membership experiences

Anyone have experiences with the DVC golf membership?/ courses?/ getting tee times? etc....

I have been getting a menbership each year for the past few years. I figure if I play 7 times or have that meany people play with me during the year I have gotten my moneys worth. I try to schedule my tee time 30 days ahead and do not have problems get the 10AM times. They have been closing different course at different times so I change my plans. It helps that I go Home twice a year. I am leaving in 4 hours for 7 days at OKW.

We are heading down Dec 28-Jan 3 and thought about doing the membership and playing twice and then we are going again in the spring and next fall (hopefully).

I've bought cards twice and never had a problem getting what I wanted. Its a good deal with just a few rounds.

Just a word of "warning" for any non-golfing spouses thinking of buying a DVC golf card as a gift. Then it gives the golfer a good excuse to golf more often-"gotta get your money's worth from that card!" Hey, so I get to go to the parks more!
Seriously, the OP asked about courses. I think he/she might have been interested in opinions of different courses. The biggest savings buying the card is for Osprey Ridge, which happens to be DH's favorite course for beauty and challenge. He also is very fond of Lake Buena Vista, which happens to be the least expensive without the card, so the least good deal. Matter of fact, when DH played once in the afternoon, it was cheaper without the card. If you can combine playing at LBV with a stay at OKW, you're really in for a treat. He loves staying at the same golf course he's played at. If you do, just don't forget your camera when you go golfing.

I have played more times at Falcon's Fire than any other course using a standby golf card I got on the plane from Ireland.
Have never failed to get tee times even at Dawn.(still gives time for the parks and shopping)
Actually played there one of the two times Disney closed for an approaching hurricane one September .

its a great deal...you and 3 guests get the discounted rate...i bought the card 11-02 and played twice with 3 guests each time..and than played twice in 8-03 with guests also..a great savings...i always call 90 days in advance and always get the 10am time...you can buy the card at the pro shop the day you play first..bring your dvc id card...
