DVC free internet-has it started yet?

During my BWV stay last week I was able to use Big River Grill's network for free just by sitting out on one of the benches in front of the restaurant. For my purposes it beat the $9.95/day charge to use it in the room. I also was able to connect from my BW view balcony, but we were down towards the lobby and the signal was weak/slow.

We're leaving for SSR 4/11 and I'll be taking my laptop to at least try and keep up with the office while I'm gone (being self employed give's one such freedom - RIGHT!)

I don't want to pay for a wireless connection if I can just "grab one" (ie. Big River Grill area - where is that by the way?)

Assuming the DVC connection will not be free yet, any wireless Hot Spots near SSR that I might be able to latch onto?

There are wireless hot spots at most resort common areas. I don't think that they are intended to be free though.

No...not free yet. We didn't read our Disneyphiles close enough...assumed it was free because we were DVC and ended up being charged 50 buck. It was our own fault....but it is not free yet!

Just got back from OKW yesterday and we did not pay for internet. Just plugged in and it worked.

Even my local McDonald now boasts Wifi! I hope it's available soon at DVC.

I'm unsure about HHI and VB, but all onsite DVCs have wired access, as do all regular WDW resorts. It was installed about 4 or 5 years ago.

I know that HHI is FREE wireless. However, at this time, it's not in rooms, just Big Murgie's Den (and the associated deck), Community hall area, and the Beach House. Some villas in the main lodge can pick up the free wireless.

We just checked out of SSR this morning and are actually on our way home. I used my Iphone in the room just to check something on the Internet. I didn't even think about it but was charged $9.95. I guess the fee still applies @ SSR.

Iphones plug into the internet via a cable? I thought Iphone access was wireless via ATT?
