Hi~

I think on another site I saw a discussion a few months ago where people were saying that if DVC members had an AP that was purchased before the discounts took effect, there was a good chance they could receive a premium pass upgrade for the rest of their year. I think it depended on the CM you asked.

Anyone here tried this recently and had success? We have passes that don't expire until November, and we'd love to have the benefits of a premium pass for the rest of this year (we're heading to Disney on Saturday). Any information on this would be appreciated!

We did the upgrade as you described about a week ago. No problems.

A few weeks before the trip I sent an email to DVC Member Services describing the upgrade process as I understand it: amount we paid for the APs being applied to the DVC member cost of a PAP, resulting in basically a "free" upgrade. DVC promptly wrote back and confirmed that my understanding was correct and that we should be eligible for the upgrade. I was armed with a copy of that email when we approached the ticket window, but didn't even need it.

It took the CM about 10 minutes to complete the process, and we even got a $14 refund to boot!

I wonder if you can do this with the temporary member cards. I don't know when we will get our permanent cards, since we are waiting on building construction for closing. We will be making our next trip in June - getting in one more trip on this set of AP's. Since our building won't be completed until August 2 - do you think we will be able to do the upgrade with the temporary cards?
