So I have 10 people in my traveling party this fall - my DH and my 2 small kids, My SIL, BIL, and their two adult children, and my MIL and FIL. We would like to enjoy several table service meals together.

My family is the only ones that are DVC members. If it says a 10% discount for member plus three guests what exactly would that mean for my DH and I's party size. If we split the check and both show our member card would it be valid for all of us?

I hope this was not too confusing. Having never traveled with a large group I am having more questions.

If it is the member and three guests, that means two people won't get the discount if I'm doing the math right.

If you are an annual passholder you could get a Tables in Wonderland card. With it you get a 20% discount at most table service locations and it includes adult beverages. The discount is good for the card holder plus 9 guests.

Do my two kids (who probably will order kids meals) count as members with us or as a guest. And if they don't it probably would make the most sense to pay for them without the discount right?

Not many of us drink adult beverages so that is not a factor. And right now we cannot seem to justify and annual pass.

Typical of most large groups there are some who want to do the dining plan and some who do not. We will have to crunch the numbers somehow to see if it is worth it.

Your children are not members, as they can not legally be listed on a deed until they are at least 18 yo.

Really, for a group that size, one person getting an AP and TIW would be the way to go, that way you won't have to see just which restaurants/days/times a restaurant is offering the 10% DVC discount, as the 20% is for almost all the Table Servie Restaurants, the Counter Service places in AK and value resorts, and is valid for every meal, 24 hours a day, with only a handful of holiday blackout dates. And if anyone in the party wants an adult beverage, the 20% applies to that, too.

Why do I feel I might get a "spreadsheet headache" after this :). I had thought about the AP so maybe we will have to consider it more.

We are thinking of a room only ressie for the Friday and Saturday night after our THV stay. If I am not mistaken the AP could help with that too right?

Usually, yes. AP room discounts vary seasonally, but given the current economy we may see extended AP discounts.
