Had a cash stay at Yacht Club and bought some toys in the gift shop and when I gave them my DVC card for the 10% discount cashier said today was the first day of 20% off. She didn't know if it was just for the 45th Anniversary or something else.

We checked into Vero Beach (BTW staying in a refurbished 1 bedroom and I can't believe it's the same resort we stayed in 2 years ago. Amazing refurb!!!) and went to the gift shop. Same 20% discount. But the cashier said she believed this was at least a 1 year discount if not permanent.

Did anyone get a 20% discount at stores? Anyone see other new DVC discount in the parks starting today?

Did you get any discounts on food? If so, was it 10% or 20%?

Got email about the passholder discount, but this is first mention that DVC is included. :teeth:

Awesome! I had one heard about the DVC discount. I hope the new resale owners won't complain too much...

Dvc and ap both get the 20% merchandise discount during the 45th anniversary. But the passholders get a 20% dining discount at 45 locations. Dvc members get 10% at the 45 locations. This will include some quick service locations.

Planning to buy two AP's later this fall but not activating them until first week of March, 2017. I'm guessing since I'm actually purchasing the voucher during the Anniversary special that once we activate them in March, they will be good for 13 months until first week of April, 2018?

This is what I'm waiting to find out myself. The promotion starts today, so hopefully we'll know more about when the vouchers have to be activated to get the extra month.

They have to make the DVC discount worth something since they are withholding it from new DVC resale purchasers. 10% could be gotten any number of ways. 20% makes a difference.

I was wondering about this but the other way. I bought my APs a few months ago, but I am activating them in two weeks. I am wondering if I will end up with 12 months or 13 months.

Apparently DVC is allowed to offer the same discounts that AP holders have, in this round, that doesn't include restaurants. Since many DVC owners are also AP holders, they really aren't giving away much. With the Disney markup on merchandise and increased purchasing they are still making a good profit.

the food discount almost makes Tables in Wonderland not worth it

Yeah, AND you get 13 months on the gold annual pass now. They waited one month from when I finally bought TIW and 3 gold annual passes to change this all around. (And just to top it off, it looks like the CM did not set up the annual passes like I asked and DW's non-expiring tickets were used instead.)

Oh how I wish the rest of the family weren't so disney-obsessed and I could sell my points and vacation to far superior destinations for a lot less money... :sad2:

Prices have surely been raised to account for this, anyway. The markup on the low-grade t-shirts they now sell is just obscene.

Does the AP food discount still only apply to the AP holder plus 3 guests?

Today, 10-3-2016, we renewed our TIW. Why? Because that so called "Restaurant Discount" is limited, not honored by many SIGS, and frankly? Pretty weenie.

20% merch discount? As we tend to buy ONE ornament per year? Worth about $5.00 to us :).

The BIG deal - and no one seems to be talking.... I have not seen either a TIW or AP PRICE HIKE. Now THAT is a gift :). THANK YOU DISNEY!

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.
