DVC Direct Pricing Heading Up

Rookie here, but if one were already considering a direct purchase of Poly (for various reason), this would be a decent idea to go ahead and move forward on...correct?

Given that the current prices, will increase next month then now would be a good idea. Also have in mind not all UY’ are available at poly unless you waitlist.

Yes, considering the large increase. You might want to buy 50 direct and then the rest resale, since you aren’t in the resale process now. It takes up to 3 months or longer to close on a resale contract.

Have Disney ever dropped prices after increasing them? Not sure whether to buy at the Poly now or wait and hope that they come down again?

Yes, and remember that Poly is close to selling out.

Yes. I can think of only one time. And it’s Vero Beach in this announcement.

They have offered some incentives after price increases. But with PVB almost sold out, I wouldn’t expect that price to ever be lower than it is today.

They haven’t dropped prices - but they have offered various incentives that amounted to a lower price. I don’t think it’s anything to count on!

Feels like there are 3 super deluxe with the new pricing.

Pricing going up makes sense since Disney has made some tremendous moves the last decade. With all the new attractions - Star Wars, marvel and now fox the parks should only get busier. Prob good to get in and just enjoy the ride.

When I was looking to buy in August, the price for a resale 50 pt Poly contract was not much different than direct DVC purchase. With the discounted park tickets this year, lower closing costs direct through disney, and getting points retroactively instead of a stripped contract, it was an immediate better deal to buy direct. So this price increase makes sense to me! I'm hoping that those who are trying to buy points this month direct or resale before the changes are successful. For those who were planning on buying points next year.. time to open a no interest credit card and buy now!

Feeling much better about BCV purchase last year and a contract that we just passed ROFR for Grand Floridian.

Nice to see people are valuing Disney more now that they are developing new attractions. Hopefully this trend continues.

Well adding on direct to our BCV contract is out. Guide doubts any points will be available before price increase......

Did you already add-on? Direct/Resale? You should be fine either way if deed got recorded. Unless you were looking to add on more.

I just bought resale and my deed is recorded I wanted to add on

Will the increase in prices drive up the resale market?

Yes. It will probably take 1-3 months, but the more people are turned off by direct prices, the more they will look for alternatives and discover the resale market. This will then make $170 per point at VGF look like a great deal compared to $220, so those who want to own there will happily pay it.

I'm am literally in the DVC tour room about to sign. Was going to go with CCV but decided on Poly. Mainly since I will be purchasing at 163.5 with the discount, I felt that if I had to exit for whatever reason I would be purchasing for well below the eventual increase. Also my wife loves Poly and at 11 months we can grab a standard
