DVC Direct Price Increase Coming February 2026

At some point, doesn't the price of 2042 resorts have to come down? Or will they just stop selling them altogether?

I wonder if they are holding back on BLT because they plan on building a second tower after LSL is done. They'll need at least one more build before the 2042 resorts go under the knife.

Last I checked they had already removed several 2042’s from the add-on tool including BRV.

If they do add on at BLT it would have to be another association and I don’t think they want another BRV/CCV on their hands. They would certainly want to increase the point chart cost and not keep them close.

Maybe a RIV add-on?

I think a second BLT tower in the same association with 30ish years left before expiration would be a tough sell.

I thought FL law was a minimum of 40 years?

I didn’t think about RIV, I think that could be a strong possibility.

Guide will only have LSL to sell. Anyone wanting to buy direct at WDW will be buying at LSL.

The question is less what resorts are selling and more if resorts are selling. I am confident in the abilities of Guides to sell over-priced timeshares to unsuspecting guests. And I say that as a very happy owner of an over-priced Disney timeshare. There will always be a hook that a Guide can use with any particular prospect. It might not get them to sign on the line that is dotted, but they will at least think about it.

For me at least, the guides sales tactics were so bad and turned me off completely for many years, even turned me off after I decided I wanted DVC. These boards sold me.

lol. Just bought my first direct contract, and long term may want approximately 50 more direct points at a separate resort. So this has me considering. But I really don’t need the points yet, and may not for several years. And I’m not missing out on anything; I have a blue card now. So I probably will just bank that money and revisit in a few years. There is no fire to put out. 50 more direct points will always cost more than I feel they should per point.

That is awful! We started with resale so no guide but went to tour RIV a few years back and the guy we spoke with became our guide. He’s a perfect match for us. Emails to check in quarterly, responds to my emails promptly and has never tried to sell us more points.
