so we booked a cabin for 2 a few months back on a cruise using points we called today and added 2 people low and behold our original cabin number became a GTY cabin. WE were not aware that adding 2 people would change the cabin. How is this handled by paying with points we've already paid?

:boat: Your cabin could have changed due to lifeboat requirement.

Do you know that your original cabin could sleep 4 ?

I think you should call DVC and talk to the CM who deals with cruise bookings.

Have a wonderful cruise! (I have been on 29 DCL cruises, with three more coming this year!)

They told me it did when I first booked and asked them because I knew we might be adding people

They said it did when we first booked because I made sure to ask because I knew we might be adding more later

Any modification to a cruise booked on points is supposedly done as a cancel & rebook. That may be why it changed to a GTY.

I did not know that. I hope the OP gets a cabin they like.

well I called this morning and apparently my cabin I originally had was not big enough as opposed to what they said was big enough so it was put in as a GTY and apparently they can book GTY cabins through DVC if available

It may very well be a lifeboat issue. If the lifeboat was full, you can't just drop 2 more people into that room.

Im not sure how lifeboat capacities are figured but if they still show multiple cabins in the same area with 2 each or 3 but not 4 persons and they are available that thats still more people and lifeboats available but Im just sayin hmmm

Well we jumped ship and changed cruises so now we got a cabin number Has anyone dine cabin 5518 on the dream? Looking for info on the television viewing for the sofa bed Are there two televisions?

I have been in 5528, so a bit more toward midship, we were pleased with the area, we had booked without an assigned cabin. One TV is the norm. Have fun!
