A friend of mine mentioned that DVC is offering free dining certificates when you take their timeshare tour (he said he's definitely going to take advantage of it). He said it was being advertised on the DVC tv channel in their room at the Contemporary.

Has anyone else seen this?

We joined DVC in December of 2001 when we visited Hilton Head. We had already decided we were going to purchase but took the tour. We were giving $100 in dining certificates which definitely was a surprise! I'm not sure what they are offering now but that's my experience.

In case anyone is considering taking the tour, it is completely no (or at least low) pressure. I was very surprised and delighted with the whole experience.

You get a quick and casual certificate for each person in your party, (like Connection certs) if you tour on certain days.

When we toured last August we got quick and casual vouchers for each person in our party. Be careful though, that free meal may end up costing you a furtune. I bought 200 pts. :)

What is the DVC?? Where is it to tour to get the free dinner tickets at ? and dose anyone know where those are good at ? thanks so much !

DVC is the "Disney Vacation Club". Disney's version of a time share. You can get info on the DVC from this board or go to the Disney.com site to see everything there is about the DVC. The Q&C vouchers are good for a lot of counter service rest through out the world. Some location are better then others for value. My favorite voucher spot is Beaches and Cream located at the Beach Club. The voucher is good for one entree, side dish, non-alc. drink and a dessert. It also, includes a tip for the wait staff. My DW and I usually order a double burger with fries and a soda and a dessert. More then enough food for the 2 of us. Total cost 1 voucher. Vouchers can be purchased through a place called connections. You will see alot of info about connections on this board some good , but some not so good. I won't ever deal with connections again. So, unless you by them from connections, pay high dollar for them on e-bay (don't recommend by the way), puchase in a package through a tavel agent or free through the DVC you won't be able to find them.

Thanks so much for the info .
Where is the timeshare and is one of those things you have to make resevastions to do ? Although i would want to buy ..lol

I don't think i will be buying the connection tickets sence i hear more bad then good about them !

Disney has DVC Kiosk's located throughout all of the parks and resorts. The main office and models are at the Boardwalk villas. I believe they also have a model set up at the Beach Club Villas.

Please answer this if anyone knows...

We were told you could only get the meal voucher ticket if you were staying on Disney Property at the time of the tour...

Seems weird to me that it was that way but we supposed that the guy was right.

Has anyone that was staying off-site gotten the free meal voucher while not staying on-site at the time of the tour.

We stayed off site and they gave us each 2 fast passes to use within the next few days. We went at the end of Jan and told them we did not need fastpasses and they did not offer us anything else. We did go to the presentation and left buying 200 points and still no meal voucher.

Sixty minutes....the other thing we learned is how much money you can save on future vacations, and not only here at Disney World, but all over the world.

We did the tour in 2000 and never got anything free. The lady at the kiosk that we talked to said we would get a free lunch but that was never offered. I guess we get great rooms for our vacations, what else could I want.:)

DH and I did the DVC tour around 1996, we did not buy points and we were given a $50 meal voucher for the ESPN Club. We fell in love with ESPN and go there every vacation!

Now that our finances are better, and now that we are married (We were dating at the time of the original tour) I think I would like to take the tour again in May when we go. We'll see what happens!

The tour is interesting and 'Not pushy." When you approach a DVC Info Kiosk you can ask if they are offering anything to tour-goers. At our kiosk the woman said "free lunch" and we figured, "Why not?" We had taken the DVC tour ages back and knew it was not a high-pressure event. My parents got hooked and bought DVC. Now my Dad calls that meal his $20,000 lunch!
