DVC Chit Chat Thread

Can anyone settle a minor argument for me? I found this canvas DVC bag in my basement. I thought it was a gift when we bought in originally in 2009. My mom says it was theirs from the 90s. It doesn’t really matter either way, but does anyone know when this bag is from?

Could be their’s too lol. I believe the original logo had the three mountain. In the 1996 range with BWV development it changed to the two mountains.

I still have that bag and it was what my paperwork was in. I bought BW in 2000. Then the next 3 between 2001 and 2003.

Later on I think we got the same canvas style bag but in backpack style ....maybe. (I'm shakier on that memory.) I have 2 of the backpacks in my DVC closet and I've never really bothered with them. The bag shown I carried (proudly) on a few early trips.

I got the same bag when we bought DVC in 2008. Still have it somewhere!
Hope this helps!

Anyone trying to solve a problem that you don't have regarding vacations? I was planning on essentially skipping Disneyland in 2027 and maybe beyond, and getting an AP for WDW next spring. The plan was to visit WDW 2-3 times with the AP. I was going to visit Aulani as well, depending on how many points I have. I'm not sure about the costs of flying now. If it goes up as much as predicted, I'll stay closer to home. But, then I'll have missed my booking advantage for my home resorts in California. Just felt like whining about it for a minute.

this thread moves fast!

We haven’t stayed at OKW yet
took us over 20 years, still kicking ourselves

TLDR is it worth messing with the logistics of going to steakhouse 71 vs staying at resort for whispering canyon instead?
yes
yes
yes

IMO the best bang for your buck re steak onsite

unpopular sentiment, I prefer their choc cake heads above the dry cake bake slice the GD favors

If want more entertainment that first night than Ketchup …being so close, how about Hoop-Dee-Do it.
we look forward to it once a year, so much fun

extra nice to just be able to grab boat over from WL vs the internal bus trek
Yes! It's very convenient. The closure was announced from 4/13 - 5/1. Even if it's extended a little you should be ok.
we ck into WL on 5/2. guess i should read up on the closure's alternate transportation JiK
I still have that bag
same, just not sure what storage bin in which it's lurking. one of my favorite DVC gifts

The costs of flying is making me reevaluate my travel plans as well. Now debating less trips but staying longer or canceling a trip and saving the points for the future. Hard to know how airfares will pan out for the rest of the year.

I agree with this on top of the TSA and FAA stuff going on. It makes air travel chaotic.

Hilton Head trip is fast approaching! Is there anything we absolutely must bring with us? I'm really unsure what we're going to want to pack for this trip.
