Interesting exercise - sort of like short-term archeology .

How it morphed - easy to explain. The thread started because someone said "Hey, I wish I could buy some black & white oval car stickers that said "DVC" on them" - because they don't currently exist. Then someone pointed out a web site where such items can be designed and purchased. Now, here's where the tin-foil hat comes into play: the day after this thread was started - and the day that the web site was identified - someone created an eBay account and started auctioning exactly what we were talking about in this thread. I looked at the photo of the item, and saw no service mark - (tm), (R), etc. - and I'm fairly sure that Disney has rights to "Saratoga Springs Resort". So it seems reasonable that this person is NOT paying Disney the appropriate license fees. There is even some evidence to support this; as Donna pointed out, the resort name (probably much easier to legally protect than 'DVC') is no longer on the product - I doubt that Disney made this change!
