Hi All,

I just tried to get reservations for 3 nights, starting 1-23-09, for a 1 bedroom or studio at any of the resorts, but all were full for that Sunday night. I could get 2 nights (24th & 25th) only at SSR. So I wait-listed for the 3 nights at any of the resorts.

Is there something special going on? This is the time of year that my DH & I always spend a few days in hopefully warmer weather!

Hope

I'm not sure if there are any special events then, but January is in Adventure season (lowest points of the year) so DVC resorts are often full.

We were there in late January last year and the parks were much busier than I expected them to be.

I've been wondering the same thing. We thought that time of year would be relatively slow. Boy were we wrong!! We're going Jan. 28-Feb.1 and have a studio at AKV for 28, 30 and 31. We're waitlisted for the 29th. Hopefully something will come through.

We have a 2 BR for the 21-27th at SSR and are waitlisted for AKV and VWL. Also all I could get for Jan 27 - 30 is a 1 BR at OKW.

MLK's Birthday holiday is around that time I believe. Could that have something
to do with it?:confused3

I've always found that time frame busy. It is a midwinter break for a lot schools. When DS was younger (he's in college now), it was one of the few times we could go south for the winter without missing school.

This year, the school district has off 19 Jan (MLK birthday), 20 Jan (Inauguration) and then 26-27 Jan (student holidays). I could see stretching out the break taking 16-27 at WDW (and only missing 3 days of school). Or, if you didn't want to miss any school 23-27 Jan.

Isn't the Superbowl in Tampa, too?
