I'm thinking about ordering the DVC backpack for my DH to use on our upcoming trip. I know it's priced at $40 plus shipping. Does anyone have one of these and if so, do you feel it's worth the money? Thanks for any help.

I got mine when buying in to DVC. I love it and use it alot. I would not pay $40 for it however but that is just me. I wouldn't ever buy a backpack but give one to me for free and I will find a use for it. It came in very handy during our last visit home to store food and reading material and stuff to keep the 5 yr old occupied on the plane.

I also have one and spent the $40.00. I just saw a few on ebay the other day and I think the highest price was 30.00 or so which is cheaper.

I brought one too - but I don't think it is well organized - I like my cheap one from Walmart much better - ligther too

We got one when we bought, but when I used it the first time at WDW I didn't like it. Straps were too thin and uncomfortable. And I agree-it's too heavy. After several days, I broke down and bought a new one at WL.

The backpack is the type that only has a small opening on top. It looks nifty but I don't think it's very practical. What I do with mine is use it as an organizer. I have it in the closet with my current member guidebook and all the reservation forms for any upcoming trips. This may seem like a waste but I haven't lost a thing yet! As a backpack I don't think the thing is particularly useful, but I do like having it. It has nifty leather trim and does look very nice.

Actually, there is a zipper down the side and a completely separate bottom pouch. I like it as a carry-on for the plane, but it's too big to use in the parks, imho.

I got mine when we brought in. I would spend the $40 on other things. Towards shirts or jackets. I don't think their bag is practical (nice but not practical). I would hate to see you spend that money just to store the book as we do too.

You can always take the $40 and buy a half of a point (that is until the increase, then it would be 47.6% of a point). ;)

We got one when we bought into DVC too. Used it last summer at Animal Kingdom and I did not like it. The straps are thin and very uncomfortable. They have no padding at all. I would buy a good backpack elsewhere. JMHO

Thanks for all the replies....I will save my $40 and spend it in another way (I like the 1/2 point idea). I'm glad I asked before I bought it. We would have been disappointed. Thanks again.
