I'm goimg to be passing through Orlando and would like to show some friends a couple of resorts. Can I use my DVC card to park even though I don't have reservations?

I've never seen anyone check to see if you have reservations. How would they know?

I've never been there with a car before but my brother came to POR to visit us once before we were DVC members and they asked for ressie #'s at the booth in the resort parking lot.

It depends. Theme park parking is not a DVC perk, but requires an onsite stay. Valet parking at a DVC resort is available by showing your DVC Membership card, it doesn't matter if you are staying onsite or not. For other WDW resorts, self parking is free, but may have a time limit, there will be a charge for valet.

Thanks! That exactly the info I was looking for.

I just did this - was in town for a convention and I'd never walked around OKW/SSR or POR - so I went resort hopping. I also swung by BWV (home for us) because I had some time left and walked around the lake. I had to show my drivers license every where, the guard at the gate at SSR actually wrote down my name, but no problems parking. I self parked everywhere (forgot to bring my card)
