Someone just offered to sell us some points for a vacation we have planed in Sept. 2008. What would be a good deal. Also We are booked at ASmu suites for Sept. 22-27 with free dinning. Is it true you can not get free dinnning if you are in DVC?

It seems to me you need to evaluate the difference. If you are happy with the ASmu - you get free dining and the whole vacation is terribly affordable. That sounds like a great deal.
If the "someone" and you set a price, then you add the cost of the dining plan on top of that - you'll figure out what the cost delta is - it will almost certainly be more expensive than your ASmu room. But, you may find that you have the opportunity to stay at a resort you've always wanted to stay at. You'll get a pool slide. Depending on the DVC resort, you could get a Savannah full of animals out your window, a mini waterpark at your resort, or walking distance to Epcot. That may or may not, be worth the difference in price to you.
