DVC and Disney Cruise question

We experienced our first cruise this past Christmas Eve!! Hard to top that one but we reserved two staterooms for our daughter's graduation in 2011 (albeit it was a dummy date until 2011 dates come through).

My question is that we only booked my DH and I in two rooms (me in one, him in the other) and will add the kids later. Although I am not planning on it, can I book the second person in each room with points if I desire or am I to pay cash only from this point forward?

Did you book these rooms on cash or points through MS? If you have only booked one per room then you are paying a single supplement which is 1.75 in other words, almost 2 full fares.

If you amend a cruise reservation booked via MS, then you will pay another $95 at the time you make the change. The first two people in each stateroom will always be charged as adults regardless of their age.

The other problem with booking someone else later is that you may not be able to add them on. Even if there is sleeping space in your cabin, the ship books to capacity in areas such as lifeboats, dining rooms, ages of infants and ages for kids club for 3 through 17 year olds. So you may not be able to add someone else after the initial reservation is made.

I would suggest finalizing the plans immediately and calling MS again to straighten it out and be able to have the passengers sail with you that you want. Good luck!

nah, it was cash through dcl onboard. we don't plan on using points but that may change. i figured that when we switched our dummy date to the actual sailing date once 2011 dates come out then i would add the 2 hooligans that will travel with us (DD and DS )
