Don't make your decision based on the discounts and perks. They change all the time.
Do they change for the better or worse?
As long as we can purchase a dining plan, we will be happyI'm guessing when you book 11 months out it is an option?
We know why we are going to buy in (love of Disney and a we want to go every year or every other year). We heard about free APs from somewhere and then to "keep" the APs found that there was a discount on renewals. We also went when they had free dining and now really want to have a dining plan when we go next.

When the DDP first came out, DVC members were not able to get the plan. Now we can. But the plan has changed and along with it, our ability to get the plan.
We are still able to purchase the dining plan aren't we? I didn't miss something did I? We are booking our next trip 7 months out. Will we still be able to add the DDP?

Sorry I misinterpreted your question.
But you can add it (or remove it) up to 48 hours before you check in. Or at least that's the current rule for DVC.
